I am so sorry to learn of Bill's death. He and I attended St. Leander's grammar school prior to BOD. He was a big easy-going, good-natured person who sported a face full of freckles and spoke with a slow drawl (southern East Bay??). I recall in 8th grade that our class was reading "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." During that time, our teacher, Sr. Marietta, discovered Bill sound asleep in the far rear corner of our classroom where he sat. Forever after, "Bill's corner" was referred to as "Sleepy Hollow." Bill's mother worked in the BOD cafeteria during our high school years. Bill had her sweet Irish face and temperament. He was someone I was hoping to see at our 50th. May he rest in peace.

Bill was full of fun. I can't say we were close friends, but what I remember was that he and I had fun together and he made me laugh----- usually in class. He had a very droll delivery, how he said things made me laugh as much as what he said. I remember him as big and kind and easy to be with. It is sad to think he is gone. I hope the life he had was full. I'm sorry I won't get a chance to swap memories with him at the 50th.
