Carole Miguel

Lived 25 years in Hawaii and became a graphic designer in 1987. Been in the Seattle area since 1997. Love life in the northwest. Until recently, I sang with a couple of big bands. While a lot of fun, it was rough on my voice. So lately I've been working with a guitarist and am focusing on jazz standards as well as a lot of bossa nova. My grandmother would be proud of my actually using my Portuguese finally!

I'm still single but still hope there's a guy out there who can handle a strong, independent woman. In 1986 I became a Big Sister in Hawaii. My "little" is now 32, lives in Seattle and calls me her godmother. Couldn't love her more if she were mine.

Just got my first gig. Oct. 13 at North City Bistro, 7 pm, Seattle, WA.

My memory was, of course, of detention with Sr. Mary Mark. She made us polish the kick plates on the bottoms of the doors and gave us the stuff to use to clean them. Just as we were finished, the janitor came by and gave us some other clean solution to use that he said was better. So, we cleaned everything again, only to have Sister come back and make us do them a third time with her choice of product! To this day, I clean only because I have to and not because I love to.
