Danny was a classmate since grammar school, also a friend, and we were neighbors while we were in high school. I remember he had an accident down the street where I lived and was stuck in his car for several hours with a badly broken leg. It was in the middle of the night, he told me, and no one heard him calling for help. It was a bad accident and he was lucky he wasn't killed, I found out later. He tended to downplay his injury, but his leg was seriously injured. During his recovery and after, I got to know him a little better, as he was stuck in a cast in a hospital bed for awhile - then laid up at home for awhile longer-had to have a home tutor for a while.  He was such an intelligent person, interesting to talk to, and he listened.  I saw him at one of our re-unions, and it was a pleasure to see  how happy he was - he had a nice family and seemed more outgoing than he was when we were kids. I was surprised and so saddened to see that we lost him several years ago. I don't know what took him but I know he is missed by many.  I remember his family.  I remember from years ago his older brothers-Pat & Gene (kind of wild & fascinating guys to this somewhat sheltered young girl), who drove me to the hospital to visit Dan with his broken leg, I remember going to Pat's wedding and having a great time, and I remember his sweet younger sister-Mary, and meeting his friendly, pretty wife at our 20th re-union.  I even remember Dan way back from St. Cyril's - I always thought him one of the most mature members of our class.  How sad I feel knowing we won't see him again.  He was a special guy.
