Along with you, I'm feeling VERY sad to think of yet another classmate SO full of life having gone away.
Jim and I were pals in the late 50's, and rode our cruiser bikes into adventure and mischief around Oceanside. I can still see him as he was, and hanging out at his parents house. As classmates at the old Terrell Ave school #2, neither of us was an exemplary student in 6 th grade, but we were taken under the wing of our teacher, Miss Marion Smith, who patiently nurtured and encouraged us to be better students. Jim was more receptive, but I hated school.
I saw less of Jim in High School, but we were still friends, and would share a laugh and a grin. It was not untill our class reunion that I found where he'd gone, and what he'd done with his life. The posted remembrances and slide profile of his life made me cry.... Jim, I'm proud and blessed to have known you............ Roger
Jim lived around the corner from me. As I walked to Terrell Ave School #2, I would pass his house, and a group of us walked together. Often we had thoughts of building a raft or bridge to cross the creek near our houses, so we didn't have to walk all the way around to get there. Fond Memories.
