Linda L. Wurst, 63, of North Port, Florida passed away Saturday October 10, 2009 after a long illness. She was born November 25, 1945 in Long Island, New York to Robert and Theresa (Heidel) Lowe. Linda came to North Port in the early 60's from Long Island. She met and married a young North Port Police Officer Donald Wurst and together they built Don Chevron which they owned and operated from 1966 to 1978. After selling the station they owned Inter State Battery of Sarasota. After retiring, she managed North Key Shell for several years.

She leaves behind her husband, Don of 43 years; daughter, Christine L. Wurst of North Port; sister, Barbara of Long Island, NY; brother, Robert of Gloucester, MA; brother-in-law, Ray Wurst of Bradenton, FL; sister-in-law, Louise Wurst of Venice; granddaughter, Destiny of Port Charlotte, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
