I had heard that it was cancer by a couple of folks at the 20th class reunion.... I missed the 10th class reunion and I have no idea when his death occurred...

Cary, Victor Vasquez & I sat together in Mr. Rutherford's Government class. I can say that Carey was definitely one of the good guys and I'm saddened by his passing....

Cary died from colon cancer. He had had many surgeries, but he couldn't recover from it.

From his obituary--
SAN ANTONIO ? Cary Don Searcy went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 1, 2004, in San Antonio, Texas, under Hospice Care. He was born in Odessa on October 16, 1964. He courageously battled cancer for five years. He was our beloved Son, Husband, Father and Brother. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Michele Searcy; and their three children, Jon, Ryan and Amber; mother and stepfather, Ann and Leon Kirby of Odessa; father and stepmother, Donny and Tina Searcy of San Antonio; sister, Tamera Ingram; and brother, Daniel Searcy; stepsisters, Jeni Criswell and Debbie Goldston, all of Odessa, stepsister, Nandy Pickett of San Antonio; and many uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. He will be dearly missed by all. (Psalm 1)
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in San Antonio, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of San Antonio In Patient Center, 9303 Cinnamon Hill, Bldg. C, San Antonio, TX 78240.
