Dan your quote from Tommy Jefferson is what I've been trying to wrap my mind around something as a true Civil War is very close. You know what my good friend said, "a Civil War is the worst thing that can happen to a Country ". Is there a way to work around this sort of thing 🤔. What do you think folks.?

Several of the Founding Fathers wrote and admonished to be ever vigilant about letting our country slip away to the tyrants,  I'll pull up a few and share.

May I suggest a book, On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder.

Excellent, Charlotte,  I'll get it.  Mark Levine has a couple of good ones too.

But you do see: It is the same night and we are the same people on both sides of the barbed wire. Timothy Snyder

Interesting quote Charlotte. You do follow our comments and maybe some controversial. I have never read the Author that you refer to but it may be time. Regards Gary.

May I suggest a person read and think with critical thinking and reading skills  (not cherry-pick guided passionate "stories" that suit their version of belief) and read person of authority and not authoritarian persons.

Charlotte Stone, thanks for the book suggestion. Here's one back at you; "American Dirt" by Jeanine Cummins. it's a gripping tale that's more true than we can probable imagine about a prominant Mexican woman and her brilliant little boy both of whom were forced to flee their home because of a particular Mexican Cartel. Their true to life story reflects that of many illegals trying to reach American Soil...

Hats off to Danny Hutchison and Gary Acker who almost single handedly keep the class of 1962 Web Page alive. Personally I've been terribly lax but will try to do better.

Before posting I went to the 'In Memory' section and counted the number of classmates who have died: 83 for the love of might!! That's nearly half of the 1962 graduating class.

Life is so wonderful, we all cherish it, and I for one have so much to do before I cross the vail into eternity...I've got a couple of books I'd like to finish, one is a biography I'm writing for a wealthy client of mine from Houston, who just happens to be dyslexic and who as coincidence had it was the only Mexican student at Logan Senior High school in the year 1967. How he got there is remarkable enough but what he did with his life after graduating is amsazing. The other book I've been working on is a satire of life in these United States today. I've titled it the 'Wrath of Grapes' . It's a long story but keeping me out of troubled. God Bless everyone, I love reading your posts! Steve

Hello to: Dan Hutchison, Gary Acker, Karen and Pete Belliston, Dale Thompson, Arnie Garr, Susie Stitzer, and anyone else who has posted recently...I heard a rumor that there might be a joint class reunion this August 28th at Lorin Farr Park in Ogden Utah...the classes of 1961,1962, and 1963 are being invited. Is this true? Please let me know as I would like to help with arrangements, publicity and etc.

Frankly I'm not in favor of a joint reunion, not that I didn't know and might like to see class members of 1961 and 1963, but it will probably be difficult enough just to recognize those of us from the class of 1962...

Anyway someone please post some information if any is available and hasn't already been posted. Correction: 83 deceased members is close to one forth of the Ben Lomond High School Senior class of 1962, that have passed the veil and moved on into the eternities. Sobering Thought !

Steve and all -

About 2 weeks ago I received a message from Dave Pettingill, who heads the class of 1963's website. He had heard the same rumor about a joint class reunion and asked if I knew anything about it. I responded that I had not even heard the rumor before then and asked him to let me know if he hears any more concerning it.

I presume if anyone from our class were planning anything, our Senior Class officers Boyd, Dale, or Sharon, would be aware of it and give everyone a heads-up.

If/when I hear anything official, I'll send a message to the class and post it on the website front page.

In response to the joint class reunion situation David Spindon called me about, I sent an email to the person David told me is heading up the combined 1961,1962, and 1963, class reunion effort, one Jeff Stowe. Jeff answered my email within three days with the following statement; "I am not a member of your Ben Lomond High School class of '62' please take me off your thread.

Humm...it was no thread Jeff, who ever you are. It was a single email. But regardless classmates, I think David Spindon and I have received some bad information. Sounds like Gary Acker got a little of it as well.

Life goes on, but I'll repeat what I said in an earlier message, I do hope we have a 60th reunion next year, and I'll assist in any way to help our class leaders make it a good one!

All the very best, Steve Nielsen

For what it's worth to whomever makes this decision, I nominate Steven Nielson to be in charge of the 60 year reunion.  Any Seconds????

Yeah Steve I would rather it was our classmates only. I do remember Jeff Stowe personally I think that he's a jerk. He was then and evidently still is. Love Dave Spindon, what a neat guy.
