Services for Kent Dean will be held under the direction of the Premier Funeral Home on Saturday 2/19 in the church at 1066 W. 200 N., Provo, Ut. There will be a viewing at 11:00am and the funeral will be at 12:00 noon.

Please "bore" us Dan. I along with many others classmates would like to see your comments on Ukrain/Russia since you have real world experience in these international affairs. I highly respect your insights and analysis. Linda and I were in St Petersburg and had a great experience with our Russian guide. Putin seems to be the devil himself, but that is not reflected in all of Russia's people in our experience.

Very interesting guys.  I've just returned from North Carolina (just a few miles short of a 3-thousand mile drive, what a beautiful country we have), and have seveal comments regarding our great country.  As to Ukraine, my thoughts turned to my assignment to Turkey in 1975, just after we imposed an arms embargo on Turkey for their (seemingly) un-provoked attack on the Greek Cypriots, where I had lived for two-and-a-half years before (1970-1972) (Then to West Africa from1973-'75).  There are some similar indicators to this Ukraine issue.  The Turks invaded Cyprus in 1974, and there were some brutal inhumain incidents.  Then going to Turkey afforded me the benefit of getting the other side of the story.  I had lived and associated mostly within the Greek sector while living in Cyprus.

I'm most definitely no expert in world or foreign affairs, but have some deep seated personal views regarding our (U.S.) bungling.

I'm not at my computer now and have many things to add, but must take a couple of days to finish getting everything in order at home before settling into lengthy remarks.  I appreciate all of your comments -- Thank you all.

Oh, and yes Gary, I lived in Taiwan for a year-and-a-half.  I have many comments I could add on that imminent Chinese threat.  It's bound to happen when they see how feckless our leadership is in our dealing with Putin.

Before leaving this for now, I can attest to the power of prayer, and know prayers in numbers (many joining in prayer) seems to have more impact.  Yes again, Gary, I agree and beseech all of you to pray for the people and country of Ukraine.

I never have much to say on here but don't interpret that as me not interested in what you all write. Much of it is really interesting.

So, all of you who are so inclined, keep up the banter and don't think you're just talking to yourselves. I know there are others like me who are evesdropping and enjoy your thoughts and comments. And who knows, maybe someday others like me may just have a thought or two that just needs to come out.

And Dan, as you know, I hope you someday write a book about all your experiences that are so unique and interesting to many of us. What you've already written here over the past few years would be a darn good start. So just keep writing a paragraph or page at a time on here, then someday organize the pieces and it'll be done :)

Dan, I too would like to hear more of your views on the Ukraine. Personally I'm cheering and praying for the people of Ukraine, and pray for success and safety for Ukrainian soldiers in stopping the invasion. Pure greed and power lust is what drives Putin. One would think he'd be pleased with the peace and prosperity of his country and just sit back and enjoy his personal and vast wealth. Russia is getting fat on the revenue received from oil sold to European countries, (not to mention some even to the USA - not sure to the facts there) . But I understand there are now more Billionairs in Russia than in the US, again I've not fact checked that, but from my personal observations the Russian people are, by and large, doing very well.

--- The following is a bulletin I'd like to share: I've been in the hospital for 6 weeks - knee operation and later a serious allergic reaction to the antibiotics used... long story. But my CK level shot up from 300 to over 5,000 and although I'd never heard of human CK levels my reaction to them nearly killed me. (CK is an acronym for an enzyme reaction that causes Rhabdomylosis) Whatever happened, It certainly left me feeling weak as a kiten.--

--- But I'm home now and would be glad to help out organizing a 60th year class reunion. Who else has volunteered? A committee to put it all together would be my advicee. Karen or Pete please let me know who else has volunteered. I will get in touch with them! ---p.s.  I'm so sorry about Kent Dean and send my Condolences to his family and loved ones !

Dear Classmates,so far I haven't heard anything concerning a 2022 60th year class reunion. Once again I'd be glad to serve on a comittee to organize and execute a fun, meaningful reunion. I personally have wonderful memories of many of our classmates (some painful ones too) and would love to see as many survivors from the rigors of life who might attend.
