I find it very interesting that in January some of you in Oklahoma were complaining about the cold. That is so funny. It is like a heat wave down there compared to the January we endured in Minnesota. We had several mornings that were minus 40 with the wind chill even colder, and sub zero temps for weeks.

The folks up here are very hardy as you can imagine. My boys love the cold and all the snow. When it gets above zero, you practically don't need any gloves or mittens :)

Sure hope things work out for a reunion this summer.

By the way, Alan, the Steelers got lucky.

Yes they did they got VERY lucky. you can send some of that snow this way and we will send the hail and twisters.

Who thinks we need to create a committee to get this planned? I am willing to do whatever needs to be done. I am assuming we want to keep it close and local. If anyone else would like to meet to discuss the agenda for the reunion, let me know.

I vote Linda gets to do it!

Still looks like WW26 - June 21-27 is the best for most, the rest of June also looks ok.

I'd use that as the general idea until someone says not to.

If you plan to do it somewhere in Okarche or relatively close, then most that live there but haven't responded should also be ok.

Meet to discuss the location / date.....So do we do it the 26th, 27th and 28th? That would probably be best so those that live out of ttown can stay for the 4th with their families. Do we want to do something in the city or something in town for the main event?

Weekend would definitely be better for me. If we decide to stay through the 4th, it will be a bit of time off and leaving Thursday for a Friday function is just that much harder.

Here is a suggestion....We can have it on June 26th, 27th and 28th...

There is a beer pub in OKC called McNellie's. They have I believe over 130 types of beer. Their website is http://www.mcnelliesokc.com. I know that they have a room that we can reserve. I will check tomorrow for a price. The food is really good here too. I suggest we do this on Friday night.

For Saturday, I thought about seeing how much it would cost to rent the gym at the Catholic church and having a meal catered (maybe bar-b-q) somthing we could do buffet style. Maybe we could even get a DJ to play some of our favorite 80's music...

On Sunday, maybe we could rent the town pool and have a cook out at the park. That way it's not anybody's responsibility to host a house party. It could be a pot luck...class provides the meat and then we bring sides/desserts.

Let me know what you guys think!

I'm thinking that If I cook something in California, you won't want to eat it by the time it makes it to Oklahoma...

Then again...I know some have had worse!

Has anyone ever told you that you are a SMARTASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Karrie Heald (Davis)

Thanks for all of your efforts, Linda, to organize things. I am sure everyone appreciates it.

If you haven't seen the pictures that Julie posted on her profile, you should definitely take a look. She shared our class photos from 1st through 6th grade.

I enjoyed seeing them very much, but my favorite part was learning that Alan has strong roots with a team other than the Steelers. I know it is hard to believe, but it is true and he won't be able to deny it. His first love is really the Dallas Cowboys!! Just look at the second grade photo for confirmation.

Karrie beat me to the comment about Alan's first true love being the Dallas Cowboys. There's no denying it now, Alan!

Thanks, Julie, for posting the pictures!

Linda Long (Williford)

My class pictures look like a collection of really bad hair! I'm convinced my mom did not like me at all in the 2nd grade. I still have nightmares of Roy chasing me around the playground screaming "Linda's got a bird's nest...bird's nest....Linda's got a bird's nest!"

Hey, at least your picture doesn't make you look like you were suffering from a raging case of Hemroids like mine did!

BTW, have we locked down a date yet? I need to plan asap if we are doing June.

I say we just plan it for the weekend of June 26th-28th so those that need to make travel plans can get that all taken care of. We can finalize all the details as they come to together. Summer is just around the corner and I can't wait to see everyone. There is a few of you guys I haven't seen since graduation, and others it has been 10 years or longer. Would it help any if everyone would post a message on what they would like to do? I think it would. I'll start with Friday or Saturday night with a good old shut down Eischen's bar night. We could all eat together and drink cold beer(or pop if you must) and just visit with everyone. The rest of the time I'm good with anything, but probablly a family outing should be a must, with kids and who ever you wanted to bring. Just my opinion. I can't wait. Later all, Alan

I recommend Eischen's on Friday night and maybe rent the gym at Holy Trinity for Saturday. I will call today and get a price for that. We could have a meal catered and bring some good old 80's music to play. Sunday we could go to the park or have it at someone's house if anyone is willing to do that. The 26th through the 28th is good for me. I will post another message when I get a price.

That weekend sounds great to me. I had already made plans to come to my parents and as it turns out the weekend of June 26th is when I will be there. I am looking forward to seeing everyone and am thankful the reunion will be the one weekend that I am there! Friday night at Eischen's will be fun. I don't think I have been there for about 15 years.

I checked with Holy Trinity and the gym is available for $250. If we want to do this, we will need to reserve it as soon as possible. There is a wedding at Holy Trinity that night and they are using the Parish Hall for the reception. This should not affect us other than parking. What kind of food would we like?

04/16/09 12:32 PM #66

Alan Willcutt

I'm not totally sure but I think we can get the Lutheran gym for like $150. We can have beer or whatever in there as well it is pretty nice also. Has a small kitchen area and has his and hers restrooms. There are also plenty of tables and chairs. Just a thought I will check on price and date. Later, Alan.
