Jessica Massey (Maynard)

Good morning....
I can't believe I'm reading all these posts when I should be packing lunches or changing a diaper or something more productive! It's been neat to read about everyone. I haven't gotten a chance to post much info or any pictures on my profile. Call it "flying under the radar," I guess!

Reva - I ran into Ms. Waterman about 2 years ago and she was still teaching and directing The Company. She said things have changed a lot since they opened Classen SAS, because all the "good dancers" go there. I also ran into Coach Palmer a few years ago; he's retired from teaching and was currently working for Twid's sporting goods, I think.

Trent - I totally believe you had a crush on Ray - who didn't? He was just "that guy."

09/04/08 08:25 AM #145

Paula Holmes

Hawthorne elem. Mike Daniels,Nancy Crites, Tracy Deere, Chris Flynn (aka Flash)- I can't believe I remember his nickname- Lisa McAfee, Laquita Hooker - I'm sure several others.

Tammy - Yes, I suppose I did date some "hot" guys. I won't mention any names:)

Hey Jessica, good to hear from you. Hope all is going well with you. Can't wait to see the baby.

Dawn Provo (Williams)

Well, Add me to the "cellar dwellers" list too. I thought I was kinda cute on my picture. Whatever Chris!!! That is why I added all of those others. I look better now anyway. No comments from those who do not agree...LOL

Hi Jessica, I think the same way when I post a response. I usually read these while I am at work and I could be doing something much more productive... LIKE WORK!!! To hard to resist at times though.

I guess I was the only one who did not have a crush on Ray. I admired him a lot though, does that count for anything??? Ray you were a pretty popular guy amongst the ladies (and men for that matter). You must be blushing by now &^%%$##@!

Jessica Massey (Maynard)

Paula! Surely you're not visiting this forum AT WORK. Ummmmmmm - I'm telling! (you KNOW I'm kidding! :) I need to come out and have lunch with you all soon. Hope all is going well there.

Dawn, I think you look lovely. We should all just kind of forget about how we looked in 1988!

Tammy, I'm dying to know who your crush is. I can give you all kinds of "second time around" advice, if you'd like! Oh - and don't get a tattoo anywhere that will be affected by gravity later on.

Eric Young

Well Dawn I thought you were cutie back then also. You were always a good friend to me.

09/04/08 01:26 PM #149

Rhonda Carr (Wood)

Eric- I read your profile and I do remember the Mustang game.. My brother was a football player for Mustang at the time..and.. I went to NWC. It was so tense in our house after that brawl. We (NWC) did kick some butt didn't we??? I am now a parent of three boys that go to Mustang (one is a football player). I have heard so many stories out here about that fight and how they (Mustang) beat us down. I just laugh and tell them thats not how I remember it. I get alot of flack out here that I went to NWC. I just remind them of who won that fight.
It is all in fun now.

Dawn, I just noticed we live in the same area, although DFW is pretty stinkin big. Aproximately where are you in Dallas?

Paula, I remember playing baseball for Hawthore and Mike playing. I remember playing against Sequoyah against Mark and Dan, Alvin Carnall and Jason Williston. And yes "Flash" Flynn. He lived on 18th across the street from Christy Lowery.

Jessica, Nice to hear from you. You know here lately I have been thinking of your dad often as my girls are now playing soccer. Your dad was an awesome coach. What is your brother up to these days?

09/04/08 04:39 PM #151

Laura Chrisman (Riley)

Tammy, No - I don't know what you, Rhonda and Trent are talking about. I'm still waiting to get my boobs and see if it changes everything for me too! (Although I'm not sure how my husband would feel about the extra attention I may get according to you guys.)

09/04/08 05:21 PM #152

Rhonda Carr (Wood)

Laura..IMHO.. you don't want them... I ended up punching a guy in the face in MS when he snapped my bra.
You are beautiful.. you don't need knockers to get a cute guy.

09/04/08 09:45 PM #153

Marcy Isbell (Watts)

How funny we have been out of high school for 20 years and we are talking about "boobs". You should spend some time at my house- boobs and 14 year old daughters don't mix. Sounds like the reunion is going to full of fun times and revisiting adolescence.

09/04/08 10:26 PM #154

Tammy Rader

Paula, you dont have to mention names :)

Jessica, I would love to hear your advice on "second time arounds".

For those of you who have taken a second ride on the marriage roller coaster, tell me, how long were you single? How did you meet your Mr. or Mrs. Right?

I have been divorced since January but separated for over a year, and have only been asked out on one date, which was New Years Eve.(he lives in LA, but was visiting) Does it sound crazy that I would absolutely love going out on a date right now??????????? I mean, I love my children but some adult company would be nice :)

I started taking a Belly dancing class and my instructor asked if i would be interested in representing our group and walking in a local parade. My son said he would tell everyone I must have taken some powerful medicine and got mixed up in the wrong crowd!- or that's not my mom! I do know alot of people in the area, especially kids, so I dont think I will do it. But who knows who I might meet huh..... with a little hip and chest action .......it was a thought..... but one I will let die. I'd be way too embarrassed and would probably attract the wrong guy, anyway.

Tammy Rader

oh and about boobs. Laura, Rhonda is right. You dont need'em. They just get heavy and make you slouch. And it's hard to run!

Trent, I've heard of man boobs. Tragic! Have you ever watched the extra clips at the end of the movie Dodge Ball? Now he had a case of the man boobs. crazy...lol!:)

09/04/08 11:57 PM #156

Ray Owens

This whole popularity thing was totally unknown to me back in highschool and if anyone had a crush on me I wasn't aware. I was just Ray, you know nothing exciting, dependable yes, trustworthy yes, dates and stuff, nope. I was the guy the cheerleaders came to kiss when they put too much lipstick on and needed to adjust it.

09/05/08 12:01 AM #157

Ray Owens

Also this whole boob thing while special and wonderful back in the day is now just wrong, I mean that disease is going to hit my girls and I am not ready, they need a pill to stop that because I can't handle it, my 7 year old had a conversation with me yesterday in the car on the way to school explaining to me how hot the Jonas brothers were and I almost lost it. I have been physically ill ever since, raising these girls by myself is hard sometimes, that was certainly a mother moment, but I faked it. I never knew I thing that caused me so much joy and pleasure would be so wrong to me now, LOL

09/05/08 12:31 AM #158

Dawn Provo (Williams)

These conversations are very entertaining... I am up at 12:15 am and laughing while watching George Lopez (not at the show).

Jessica - Thanks. I think I thought I was cuter back then than now but it is all good. Nothing that a little Jenny Craig won't fix. (hehehehehehehe)

Eric - Bless you brother. I thought you were a very considerate and patient person knowing what you had to go through back then. We grow up and learn from our experiences, huh?

Trent - I am North Dallas 635/Hillcrest. I just moved back to the Dallas area from being in Arlington/Mansfield for 9 years. Better opportunity for my babies over here.

Tammy - I have been separated then divorced for 8 years. I have not been out on one single date yet. It is not a big thing to me right now but I do think about adult companionship at times. I would love to go to the movies with an adult and not my children. So maybe I have had a date, with children. Taking out the part where I had to pay, it wasn't half bad. :) I do not have any second time around advice but just remember the first time and try not to do THAT again. Whatever THAT was... :-))

Ray - Dude the conversations get "gooder" (a funny saying around my house). My 15 year old daughter and I have some pretty open conversations and they are surprising at first but you start thinking, if I don't, someone will...so now I try to keep my surprise face until after she gets out the car. Whew!!!

09/05/08 07:50 AM #159

Chris Blevins

man these posts are becoming way to relaxed and friendly. too much gushy memory stuff. i think its time to stir things up a little bit. how about this to get started:

Vote for John McCain!!!

if you don't respond, you must agree.

09/05/08 09:38 AM #160

Trent Littleton

Yes Chris I agree Sarah Palin does have that hot, naughty librarian look with those little glasses. OHHH you were talking about John McCain...my bad.

Now back to the gushy stuff....

Ray, I completely understand as my 8 yr old has the Jonas Bros hanging on her wall. I guess I can't really say anything as I once had that famous Farah Fawcett poster on my wall. She also is obessed with "boobs", runs around the house in her little bra thing thinking she's all that, and she is...just ask her. I just walk around all day repeating "serenity now...serenity now".

Tammy, I'm actually on my second marriage. The first time I was young and dumb. I guess I was single for around 2 years or should I say not married as it didn't take me long to get back in the saddle and find my now current (and last) wife. And yes I have seen the clips at the end of Dodge Ball...awesome.

Dawn, I'm out in Wylie, not far from you.

09/05/08 09:45 AM #161

Rhonda Carr (Wood)

Ray and Trent.. you guys sound like great dads. Made me say awww this morning....:o)
I have looked at so many profiles on here and boy did the class of '88 take it literally to procreate...there is lots of kids!!!!!

09/05/08 02:58 PM #162

Marcy Isbell (Watts)

geez Louise you guys have to kidding. More of the same rhetoric. No thanks it's time for a change.

09/05/08 03:38 PM #163

Tammy Rader

Trent and Dawn -- thanks for sharing, I appreciate it.

Trent and Ray, I agree i have to say awwwwww.... it sounds like you've got your hands full, guys. Good luck!!really. I'm right there with you, mine's 11 yrs.

09/05/08 04:24 PM #164

Trent Littleton

Seriously...we've moved to Winston Churchill?

09/05/08 05:11 PM #165

Tammy Rader

So, Marcee, glad to hear from you, please...share... whats on your mind? :)

09/05/08 05:17 PM #166

Dawn Southern (Knam)

Oh My gosh...How have I missed all the back and forth on this board??
Not paying attention...now there is a suprise.
Hey on a sadder note...I wanted to let everyone know that Darren Menge passed away this morning of a heart attack. I got word from Autumn Bordwine.

Well I was on a mission to lose weight before this reunion, but that is not happening.

Trent & Dawn...I live in McKinney, just north of Dallas.

There are actually quite a few of us in this area!!

09/05/08 06:55 PM #167

Marcy Isbell (Watts)

Our thoughts and prayers go to Darren Menge's family during this trying time. Sounds like services will be on Monday more details as they become available. He leaves behind his wife- Robin and 4 children.

My mind is full of how grateful I am and how much help I still need. I will be married for 20 years come October, so I don't know anything about dating or second marriages. So no advice to offer there. My son is 19 (Awesome guy) and getting ready to move out. Raising boys seems to be much easier than girls. My daughter is way too much like me. She is 14 and all mouth and attitude. I got bold and took some tough measures but if anyone has any insights I am all ears.

OK no political talk but I do hope you guys spend some time investigating your choices and make an informed decision.

My thoughts are with Che and his family- I pray for his safety.
And to anyone who has or is serving our country- You have my respect and I say THANK YOU.
