06/17 I have done well and was fortunate enough to have fully retired at age 61. I worked for an organization which supports US Government Contractors, "alphabet" intelligence agencies (NSA, CIA, FBI, DOD, DEA, DIA), and the US Military in CONUS / OCONUS locations where I interviewed / recruited operatives/engineers with clearances to TS / SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph. I was granted a DOD Top Secret/SSBI Clearance (now inactive) (Look on "Linked In" for more info- Kevin Shumelda, MA, PHR)

School Story

During my time at Wheatley I participated in Soccer (a JV Captain), Wrestling and Track (Pole Vault & 440) besides pursuing my academic studies. In all grades 8-12 I scored in the top 10 the USMC fitness tests ( 2nd place in 11th. 1st place in 12th). I also made Varsity Club my senior year. After HS I went to Nassau Community College and SUNY Oswego State University and received my Associates and Bachelor's degrees. I then spent 4 yrs. in Florida in Police work. A shootout situation prompted a "rethink" so I moved and settled in the Washington DC area, went back to school, and graduated from a 1-year computer school. Later, I pursued / graduated from U of MD Graduate school and obtained a Master's degree. Interests over time have included Tennis, Racquet Ball, Martial Arts (Shotokan Karate- Purple Belt), automobiles, rallies, automotive autocross, 14yrs crewing on 30-40 ft. racing sailboats on the Chesapeake Bay / Potomac River, and motorcycling.

To my Jewish friends and to the people of Israel know there are those Americans who stand united with you. God be with you and your families as you are not alone. Israel strong. As you celebrate today please think to take a moment of silence for those classmates who are no longer with us and for those family and friends who are suffering as a result of the recent events in Israel and to think of those who cannot celebrate. I am hoping some took a moment to think about what I mentioned ..even if done today rather than yesterday. From a "bigger picture" perspective any who have reached our points in life might take a moment to reflect on those who did not get here 50yrs on...I'm sure most of our friends had aspirations and dreams and would have liked to see their own lives had continued....Maybe just as a sign of respect that these who have now passed were our classmates, our friends , that we shared our times and experiences with,..... and that their lives mattered to us.
