I started my college education at Michigan State University, but hated the distance from home and the size of my classes (200+). I loved my roommates who eventually stood up in my wedding. I transferred to U of I and then to UIC. I could not find my niche. I then fell in love with my handsome stud muffin hubby and moved to Michigan. I married in 1991 and finished my education at Central Michigan University. I began teaching special education in 1996 right here in my small town of Fife Lake. While going to school, I also ran a home daycare and created two wonderful babies. I graduated with my Master's in Education from GVSU in 2002. I still teach here in Fife Lake, fifth grade. I love my job! I also teach driver's education, the behind the wheel aspects. I love that too! Life is just peachy here in little ole Fife Lake, pop. 1000. Our graduating class is 50 kids and that is the surrounding 3 towns! Kassie is now sweet 16 and Ryan is 14. They are amazing athletes, bright students and a delight to hang out with. Rick and I also started fostering children in January 08. We have Brian and Jenna with us since then and love it dearly. Rick and I are actively involved in our community (coaching every sport under the sun, running PTO carnivals, hosting community picnics, etc.) and with our church. I am blessed with a wonderful family and a perfect husband! LIFE ROCKS!
I loved High School! I enjoyed sports, my teachers, and hanging out with friends. I am sad that I have not done a better job of keeping in touch with these great people. My favorite school memory is hard to choose. I think it would be watching Laura Mohan become prom queen. No one is more deserving! She is even more beautiful on the inside than out. Check out her profile...she is still gorgeous! I also loved trying to beat Dawn Drake in greeting Happy Hump Day on Wednesdays, listening to Liz Spore crack me up on the track bus, watching Chris Gambotz try to sneak out of every class under the sun. I HAD SO MUCH FUN IN HIGH SCHOOL!
