After High School, I met Bobby Ayers. I attempted to go to college at FSU and made it about a half year. Bobby had moved up to Tallahassee with me. I decided that I wasn’t ready for college that far away from home. Bobby and I moved back to Orlando and I went to Valencia for a little while. I got pregnant and Bobby went into the Navy and after boot camp he went to Great Lakes. So guess what, I moved to Illinois at 6 months pregnant and Bobby and I got married in April 1981. When I got married up there, George McElhaney – my uncle, was at the Court house with us. Then in June 1981 my first child, Robert (Rusty) Ayers was born. We stayed in Waukegan until December 1981 when Bobby was sent to Norfolk, VA. Shortly after that Bobby left the Navy and we moved to Brooksville, FL for a little while. I got pregnant again so we moved back to Orlando and I had my second child, Michelle in October 1982. She got sick August 29th and passed away September 2nd, 1983. Then I got pregnant again and had Tabatha in June 1984. I started working for AT&T in August 1984. I divorced Bobby in November 1988 and married my next door neighbor, Kurt, who I had known for a couple of years. Kurt and I were married until 2004 and he went back home to Mississippi. In March 2007 I was laid off from AT&T and then rehired in July 2007 and I am celebrating 25 years in August with AT&T. In March 2007, I decided to become a “Parrothead” and joined the Parrotheads of Central Florida. Being a Parrothead is great. We do a lot of charity work for places line Give Kids the World & the Russell Home in Orlando. We volunteer and help with things like the Corporate 5K run by serving beer. We just had a bowling tournament in January and raised over $10,000 for the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation. We do beach & street clean-ups and participate in Mud Volleyball & Beach Volleyball tournaments and everything we earn goes to one of the charities. We have a motto; it is “WE PARTY WITH A PURPOSE”. We have our Phlockings (meetings) on the first Friday of the month at Mc Wells on Orange Avenue and Holden.
I have been busy with my grandkids. Rusty has Kristin born in 2001 and Austin born in 2003. Tabatha has Alexia born in 2004 and Ethan born in 2007 & Lylah should be here in April. As of now, Rusty & his two kids, Tabatha & her two kids & one on the way, 3 dogs and 3 cats all live with me in Winter Garden. Well the 30 year reunion is almost here. I can’t wait to see everyone! See you in August!

No. Decided to have kids instead. I wonder sometimes if I should have finished college instead of dropping out.

I guess everything turned out okay because of my 5 grandbabies!
