Please sign the petition and share ,so that we can get enough signatures and hopefully encourage democracy.

Subject: Update about 'Guarantee English as one of the two official languages in Montreal - Une garantie à avoir l'anglais comme l'une des deux langues officielles à Montréal.' on Change.org

This petition is much more than I thought it would be. There is a serious outcry from you with comments stating that we have our inalienable rights and they cannot be taken away from us. There are so many messages that clearly state we are a unique location in North America and we wish to maintain our bilingual status. This is why we love being here in Montreal and Quebec. So many have stated that they were born here and that their ancestors helped make Montreal the place we love and enjoy. That there is no Government that has a right to take this away from us. Many more of you have stated that as recent immigrants you love the diversity and the bilingual status of Montreal. That is why you chose to come and stay here. So then why can we not send our message to those politicians, that only have a mandate for four years, and clearly demand that they do not touch our lifestyle. We demand that Montreal becomes a bilingual City and that we may enjoy the privilege of stating that we live in the very best and unique City in North America.
To make Montreal a bilingual City, we require a multitude of signatures, so please help by sending out this petition to everyone you know. They can be citizens of Montreal or not, we want over 10,000 names on this document. Let's make some noise. The politicians must listen to us.
My I suggest you ask all who signed the petition to resend the invitation to their friends using this URL here as this helps to maintain the accents on the French version of this email.

This Organizing Committee is like the Energizer Bunny - it just keeps going and going and going!  I recently received an envelope in the mail from Laura Strauss and when I opened it I found a program, a beautiful keychain memento, my name tag that I would have worn had I been able to attend.

Thank you all for thinking of absolutely everything and keeping those of us who couldn't make it included!  I was speaking to Fran Furtner Browns yesterday and she received a goodie envelope as well.  We just couldn't get over your continued thoughfulness!yes

Helllo all,

I just want to let everyone know that we have lost another Outremont graduate.  Apparently Matti(Molly)  Abromovitch died a week ago. The funeral was on MOnday.  No information was available and the Shiva was private.

The last time I saw her was at the OHS brunch on Sun.

I know that I speak for everyone and send my sincere condolences to her family and friends.

I personally had just reconnected with her.

With deep regret for this sad news.

We were deeply saddened by Matti's passing and our heartfelt condolences to her family. She was a wonderful person and we'll always remember her intelligence and courage. She was an excellent conversationalist and had an infectious laughter. May her soul be bound up in the bonds of eternal life and may the family be spared further sorrow. We will miss her deeply. Just watched your video about the Outremont High School reunion. What a wonderful production!!!

Thank you for time and effort to create the videos and then putting them together as a video and posting them on Youtube.

I have sent the link to the video to some of my friends who did not attend the reunion so they may enjoy it as well.

Thanks again. Great Job!

I just finished watching the video of the reunion.  I am so sorry that I missed it, but my daughter's engagement party took precidence. I was shocked and saddened by the people who had passed away.  Not keeping in touch with my fellow students over the years has obviously made the news more sorrowful.  Most of the guys had been my friends during school hours and we participated in school sports together.  Yes we are all 67 but I still feel much younger..  Hopefully we will be around for the next big reunion.

Hi to my Outremont High school mates

I have been travelling and had not been to the message forum for a while.  Prior to our reunion, it was quite sad to learn about the deaths of so many of our class mates. That was difficult.     More difficult, for me, was to read that, since our reunion, Molly and Hymie have passed away.         Many heart felt condolences to their families.                It was so recent that I had wonderful conversations with them, and, externally, they both presented as pictures of health.       As my late parents would have said in Yiddish; "Man plans; God laughs".                 Life is so ultra precious...........and so are  many of the reconnections made at the reunion.           May we all and our loved ones  be packed with great health and many joys for many decades ahead.                    I support the suggestion to distribute all of our email addresses to each of us, given that this is the eve of saying "Au revoir" to this website. Let's stay connected!

Warmest Wishes,

Hannah Zwaig Garrick

Olga Stathopoulos (Laurent)

Hello and au revoir.  I read all the messages and in a strange way I felt connected with different people that I know or know by name.  I enjoyed getting to know you after 50 years and I will miss you all.  Can we keep it one more year?  I will contribute to a fund to keep it open.  Let's some of us who need this social avenue meet in the new year for a supper. Should Bella have a show even for Christmas some of us would like to go and pay our way to the event (supper?) and enjoy the music and friends.  Please let me know keep my email and as a matter of fact all emails for further contact.

Olga
