What a memorable weekend! From the moment I arrived and was greeted by what I thought were young women in school tunics (including Kathi) who I sadly did not recognize to saying goodbye on Sunday morning at OHS, Everything was perfect! Thanks to the organizing committee for an incredible job.For all those I did not get a chance to chat with, I sincerely apologize. My memory is not what it used to be.I am hoping this post works and will attempt several others.I also have about 50 photos that I will try to post.Miss you all....Ted zwibel

What a reunion! Seeing old friends and realizing the hard work undertaken by Nafi, Laura, Judy,Brina,Kathi,Eric, and Bella was just amazing. I did NOT consult the wonderful program that was part of the welcoming kit so if I have forgotten anyone, I apologize.

A couple of the many highlights for me were:

Seeing some old friends who have been in touch over the years (Laura,Danny,Nafi,Irving,Jack)

Hearing Bella's wonderful voice again. She really should produce a CD.

Seeing Helen (Chickie) who I have literally thought of at least once a week for 50 years.

Missing Ginny who I have been lucky enought to see from time-to-time

The people who were kind enough to remember the parties in our basement, my Dad,s wisdom and kindness, my Mom, s incredible cooking and my brother Phil who is here in Toronto.

As Bob Hope said"Thanks for the memories"    Ted Zwibel

Kudos to all those who organised this life-changing fabulous event. It was so great to see everyone and share the wonderful and profound memories from Outremont High - I'm ready to wear a tunic next time.

Oh so-o-o sorry I didn't make it to the reunion frown, but evidence on the message board and in the photos leads me to believe it was the success everyone hoped it would be ... and then some!  I was definitely with you all in spirit. Memories of my teenage friendships and those great times at Outremont have been flooding back in waves over the last few months and continue to do so every time I go onto the website: Teddy, Morty, Elayne, Judy, Bella, Ellie, Laura, Dale (Aviva), Harry and so many others.  Well, truth be known Harry and I see each other every week and have been for 30 years or so.  No, that wasn't a juicy bit of gossip! wink He's been our family Pharmacist these many years.

To the Committee: thank you for taking on this incredible task and executing it with such vision and heart, love and perfection.  This site alone is such a boon!

To all of you, it would be lovely to be able to keep in touch and to that end I leave you my email address:

gkirkham@videotron.ca

I wish you all much loveheart, happiness, cherished memories, health and peace.

Blessings,

Grace Goldsmith Kirkham

Rebecca Augenfeld, Aviva (Dale Brown) and I had a mini west coast reunion. We went to Victoria, had lots of sunny weather, stayed in a hotel around the corner and then ate most deliciously at Ulla, my daughter Sahara's famous restaurant. It was a delightful mid-week weekend.

So sorry I couldn't be at the real reunion. It sounds and looks like it was exceptional. Rebecca helped me to put names and faces together when she got here. That was nice. Everyone looked great.

And, as far as life stages go, I'm happy to announce that we are finally expecting our first grandchild!!

Hugs and Best wishes to all of you.

El -

How both unearthly strange and natural to meet you on the Outremont forum!!

I've been sort of following the forum since the reunion. If Dale and Rebecca are still around - send them my best wishes. It's amazing how the past of fifty years ago can suddenly become so alive.

Missing you,

Laur

Great to see that people are still finding each other. When I got back to Toronto, I looked through the Yearbook and thought I recognized someone. It was Ian Kaufman whom I frankly did not remember from . OHS but we live in the same building in Toronto and he is on my Steering Committee. Just never discussed where we were from. He was sorry he missed the reunion but he was not aware it was happening.

Also heard from Blair Bryson and was delighted. I also learned that he used to live very close to me (same as in Montreal) here in Toronto but we never crossed paths.

Brana called when she was here in TO and hopefully next time we can get together

I’m finally home (briefly) so I can dash off a few words of thanks to the organizers, and to all of you who came.  I don’t know what I expected of the reunion but I never expected to have s-o-o much fun.  The sheer joy of seeing old friends, reminding each other of long forgotten moments that were important to us in cementing friendships, the amazement at the talents that pulled off the organization of the reunion, and of course the dance music... I could go on and on, but others have expressed better than I can.  Hope to see some of you soon when you come and visit in Toronto.

Joyce Weiman (Amato)

Abigail Hirsch, Lauren Amato, and Joyce Weiman Amato at the NYCIFF (New York City International Film Festival) last evening (6/18/13).  I am so proud to announce the entry of Abigail's documentary, YIDDISH: A TALE OF SURVIVAL in the festival.  It was received with rave reviews! Abaigail directed and co-produced this amazing film and I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to attend the screening last night.  I hope everyone will get to see this film that "documents human struggle and resilience to preserve culture in the face of atrocities."

Yeah, Abigail, we are so proud of our own OHS graduate of 1963!

I'm still filled with regret as I read the accolades and testimonials of this reunion. My flight from Vancouver was booked, tickets for the event paid for and I was stoked. But a medical emergency (not mine) made it impossible for me to leave home.

Now I look at your smiling faces (some familiar, some not ) and wish I could hear your voices, hear you speak, hear the cadence in your voices, your expressions and emotions, find out first hand who you are now.

Any chance there'll be a 55th reunion? Oh well.  If you're ever in Vancouver, please look me up.

I just spent a lovely afternoon and evening with some former Montrealers yesterday at a pool party and BBQ. U mentioned that we had a 50 th year reunion from OHS and they were so jealous. Apparently Baron Byng and Northmount could not get a group interested in creating a reunion.

Pass this along to the committee. They did a wonderful service to those of us who chose to take advantage of it.

I am sure there was lot of fun preparing it too but still the organizing committee deserves cudos, big time

Outremont High still leads the pack even after 50 years!
