Hi everyone. I agree, i really like the pics that Tonya Hicks put up. It was so great to see that bunch again. Hopeing to see everyone at the reunion. And by the way. I love what has been done to the CLASS OF 88' site. It is so cool.

I'm spending way too much time checking out this web site. I've even now joined facebook.com to try to get in touch w/ more Oxford folks.

This is definitely getting in the way of more important things, like preparing for my fantasy football draft.

So, who remembers the Senior Superlatives? Can we review those at the reunion and see how well we did? Who was most likely to succeed?

I agree on the Def Force reunion - cmon guys! Also, like Breedlove this site spurred me onto Facebook where i have found even more Oxfordites from back in the day and have spent a bit too much time as of late, but it sure has been interesting - look forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks.

Can anyone believe how we have turned out. A DJ, Actor, Graphic Artist, Shop Owners, Teachers, Relgious Outreach, Parents, Lawyers, Out of NC, still in Oxford. Did anyone really believe they would be where they are now. I know when I joined the Army it was to never look back. Now I can't wait to see what I missed. 20 years is a long time to not come back home, but to bring a wife and 2 kids to a place where it all started scares me a little. To be honest I dreamed of being invovled in sports somehow. Being an Electrical Engineer is about as far away as I can be now. LOL. Man times have changed. Great site guys, the brain cells I have left revel in the memories it invokes.

Hello to all. I'm so ashame to admit just how addictive this website has become. (Ok do you see what time it is and I am posting a comment) To Amy and everyone else involved this has been an awesome experience. I am most delighted to read the accomplishments and I am so proud of my fellow classmates. Twenty years......wow!!!

Amy and Grey, great job on the website!! I'm hooked!! I find myself constantly checking in to see what new classmate has been added to the list. This was the BEST idea ever.
While working at Duke Energy, I was spreading the word about the reunion to EVERY classmate that came in to pay their power bill. I've since moved on to work at SGWASA in Butner, still seeing a few more classmates and a couple of former teachers. I emailed Mrs. Hanzer earlier. So glad that she'll be attending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. I'm so proud to be a part of the Class of 88.

Okay I am bringing a Mother in Law and Sister in law an Au Pair and two kids. What, if anything, can I do with these people for entertainment while the wifee and I stare at people and try to remember them and then if I remember them can I remember if they liked me 20 years ago? Now that is a challenge. I can take them down Dabney drive, to Satterwhite point, drop by where the Orpheum used to where I watched my first movie(Jaws), Hester Church, and after that I am at a loss. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Best bet for the kids is to take them to Henderson to Adeventure Island (across from Pizza Inn). The kids could play there for a while, movie theatre nearby as well as plenty of places to eat.

By the way, you were asking about hotels, best ones probabaly are in Henderson anyway. Hampton Inn, Jamison Inn....

As in the past - not a whole lot of activities in the Oxford area :)

I love the idea of reviewing superlatives... I even found the list of last will and testament we could check those out as well...

Excellent job on the website. I can't wait to see everyone. Viewing these old pictures and listening to the music has brought back such wonderful memories.

Hi!
I saw Amy's message about Adventure Island but can anyone give a few other suggestions? My parents are coming to take care of the kids that weekend but they are not sure what they will do with them. We will be there for 4 maybe 5 days? Connor is 5 and Ally is turning 3 this week. Do you think it would be better for them to go back to Myrtle Beach for a few days or can we keep them busy in Oxford? Any suggestions would be helpful, trying to make our final plans this week.
Super excited about seeing everyone. Thanks so much for any suggestions you have!
Jen

There's some cool stuff just up the road in Raleigh for kids to do. The revamped museum now known as Marbles Museum (http://www.marbleskidsmuseum.org/) is usually a hit with kids. Imax is right there with it so there's plenty to do there for a day. Another cool place in Raleigh/Durham off of Hwy 70 on Alexander Drive is Frankie's Fun Park(http://www.frankiesfunpark.com/raleigh/). There are lots of parks in Raleigh too (Pullen next to NC State, Blue Jay Point (in the Northern part of Raleigh) and Umstead park off of Hwy 70.

I agree with Dwain. My boys (9 and 5) love the new Marbles Museum and also Frankie's. In Roxboro there is Palace Pointe (has movie theater, bowling alley - side racks can be put up for kids, skating rink, eateries).

Is there a dress code for this reunion? Is Sat night casual or Semi-formal like the prom??? HA :-)

09/10/08 07:45 AM #62

Amy Capps (Rice)

Just "look nice". I wouldn't want anyone to go out and drop a bunch of money on a outfit that they'll never where again (i.e. prom dress) but take it as a chance to dress up and look "pretty" or "handsome". Dressy to semi-formal.

I wish I could find my pics. Where the heck did I put those damn things? Idea of inviting teachers to picnic is probably best. They would probably enjoy the picnic more than the Saturday night festivities.

Hey everyone!

I just received the final votes on the top 10 song list from Amy! I'm really pleased with the outcome and I think you're all gonna love this CD. Now...I've gotta get to work!

Hope everyone is doing fine. The time is comeing so close for everyone to see each other again in a long time. I am so ready. I am really looking forward to this. Just like some of u have said. I come on here just to see what old classmates have said. And if any new pics have been put up. I think my husband is more excited than i am.

Yeah Lisa. The countdown clock on the front gets me excited some days and nervous on others. Only 18 days left. I just wish we knew where every classmate lives now so we could get in touch and have them attend. Keep spreading the word though!
