He was actually keeping up with the 2 of them, now he's recovering from sore muscles..lol.lol!!! Next time he will have to do what Monique Sneed(Watkins)did, prepare yourself..wear tennis shoes when it comes time to dance!Great shoes Monique! Now SHE needs a massage this week Roni...lol.!!! Bill,so good to see you too, can't wait to show mom the pictures..she'll say "WOW" too!! By the way, Bill lived across the street from me. Yes Kim was my pretty neighbor my whole life and we never hung out much to my dissapointment. I loved seeing everyone again and no intentions of hitting anyone. Love all the photos as I have none from those years. Wish I knew Liz Denny wasn't related to Tim Denny before yesterday. I was so out of touch. Heck I wish Grey Blackwell and Cynthis Lumpkin were closer cousins, not kissing cousins or anything but you get the drift, well maybe Grey but that is another story. I don't know if I have expressed it enough that this was life changing for me. This is the first time I have missed Oxford. I left for the Army and had never planned to look back, you guys made me miss calling North Carolina home. Thank you.

***Tracy here***
For those of you interested in Barry's book and would prefer not buying online...
I spoke with Barry today and he should have more books on hand this week or next and they are only available online as some of you previously mentioned or through him. I offered to be his own personal "stop and shop bookstore" so those of you locals that want a copy you can come by my office at Nelms Electric on 210 W. Industry Dr. or contact him directly at 919-690-2166. They are $12 and I can tell you that I was very moved by his words and feelings. It is a book of poems that will give you a deep look into the soul of a good man. Many of you may know that he has been very sick and not given long to live and that is when he began to put his thoughts and feelings onto paper but since being published his doctors have found a med. that is working for him and by the goodness of the Lord Barry is doing well. We shall be blessed to see him at many more reunions. I will let you know when the books are in and available. Please help me generate this information to anyone you think may be interested.
May I add....you guys have an awesome class, your 10th and 20th out did '87. (but don't tell anybody I said that) Tracy

Hi. Thanks for the updates on Barry and the book. I want a copy and would prefer to give the money straight to a person and not online. I want a copy for myself, and if appropriate, we could all go in and donate a copy to the Richard H. Thornton Library from the Class of '88. That is if the library doesn't buy it! Tracy Watkins, I will ask my mom to swing by Nelms when you have them. Thank you! I can't wait to read it.

Tracy Green (Gilson)

Liz, I think the library thing is a great idea. I was planning on getting one for that purpose. I mean he is a home town boy so props should definitely be given to him and at his home town library especially. Oh, and since Barry's going to be this famous author known world round, I want a signed copy, lol.

Barry called tonight and said the books would be in next week so I'll keep you posted. Speaking of a signed copy Tracy, if anyone knows for sure that they want one please let me or Barry know because he actually likes to personalize it with a short note to the person. But if you just stop by and pick one up I will definitely keep record of who gets one so he will know, he is happy to hear that you guys are interested. I've told him about this website, I don't know that he knew anything about it until this past weekend so I'll see if he can get connected to all of you through it. Tracy

Kim Turner (Vick)

Hey Tracy,I would love to get 2 of those books. One for myself of course, and the other for Tina Railey (Quick). She also went to school with him and couldn't make the reunion,so if he will sign both,I will come by and pick them up when you have them, and mail Tina's off to Florida. I got a chance to talk a long time with Barry at the reunion, and he told me about being sick and the book. He told me he was doing better...so glad to hear that.Thank you so much for allowing us to come by your work and pick up these books. Kim

Embrace the blessings that the Lord has given you...your health & strength, a beautiful wife, 2 beautiful children and your Class of 88 family.

LIZ-I had a grand time! If I am not mistaken...you enjoyed yourself to the uttermost!

GARY-Please add me to the list. I would like a signed book from Barry. Let me know what you need from me. Thank you.

Hi Tracey I would like a book also. Could u please let me know what i need to do. I can stop by the store when im in Oxford. Just let me know when. Thanks. I had a wonderful time at the dance. I enjoyed the dance before i left. U know that dance that everyone loves to do (electric slide). Everyone knows how to do that dance and of course the 2 step. U know the 2 step (from side to side). If u dont know how to dance, these two dances will get u by. But sorry i could not make it to the picnic. I also like the photo that Monique, Tonya, etc. that we took together. Hope some of u will be at the Webb and South Granville game on Friday the 10th. Well, until next time. Have a bless one. Oh by the way. love the cd. I listen to that cd all the way home. It was so neat the way they had the cd recorded. And i love the memory table at the dance and the now and then pictures that was always playing in the background.

The JF Webb Class of '88 is pretty awesome! Thanks for dropping the book off for me, Tracy. I can't wait to start reading it. If it's not signed, maybe we can organize something so Barry can do that for all of us. Maybe like a book signing/fundraiser. It's very nice he's willing to give the books away, but I would really like to contribute something. Anyone up for some more planning??

10/10/08 07:14 AM #177

Bill Bush

If you really want the books to fly send one to Oprah, seriously. I want a book all the way up here in Virginia. I learned myself to read after I left Oxford. I just recently read an entire book that had no pictures. But seriously, I want one Tracy I will send money or God forbid you hold onto it and I will visit again, just not real soon. I wish all of you the peace I found in Oxford. Oh Monique keep your feet stuff to yourself, nobody wants to hear about corns and bunions, you know you ain't 18 no more. LOL

Tina Railey (Quick)

Kim thanks for thinking of me. I was getting ready to order a copy but, Yes I would rather have a signed book from Barry. So just let me know when you get it. I'm with you Liz I would much rather give the money to the person than online. I read a few reviews from different sights and cann't wait to read the book. Tracy G has also kept me updated on what's going on. Cann't wait to see you guys in November!!!!

Okay, I'm am keeping up with all of your names so Barry can personalize it especially to each of you and again, I'm going to see if he can get connected to all you himself through this awesome website.

Books are $12 and well worth it - I have read through it about 3 times already.

Bill, I think we can manage getting one sent out to Va.
I will invoice you. LOL

I will continue to check in and see who else may want one or you can email me: gtbwatkins@yahoo.com or call me: 919-691-2423. Tracy

Gary,
I'd like a signed copy also. If you will just post on the site when they are in I could bring the $12 to Tracy at Nelms. I've heard a lot of good things about the book already and am glad to know that he will be around for more reunions.

That is so funny Angela! I was on the phone with Kathy Warren a couple of nights ago and I asked her if you really did break out into song, she cleared it up, but I laughed so hard thinking you had! Very funny photo!

Those silly boys!

OK every one. Our worst fears have come true. Reginald Terry captured every dance move. DANG! I mean every move. They are hysterical photos.

Some good old huntin buddies of mine were looking over my shoulder and saw the pictures of Tonya deer hunting and wanted to know where girls like that are. I told them that you gotta go a nice quiet place where good people live. I told them there ain't no place this close to DC where good people live. Well except Liz, Ricky, and me.

I had a great time at the reunion. I'll have to say that Grey Blackwell and Angela Regan have not changed a bit. They deserve the award for sure.

Where in the world were Donald Hunt and Willie (Popcorn) Latta?
