So sorry to hear about the passing of Terry Flynn. He was a kind soul and a wonderful announcer. I can still hear him announcing the Fremd athletic games.
I last saw Terry when he was at the school where I taught. He was driving a bus for a special event. He seemed to enjoy working with the kids.
So sad to hear Cheryl passed away. We always had a fun time with her back in high school. My favorite memory of her was when we decided to roller skate from my house to uptown Palatine. When we got to the intersection of Brockway and Palatine Road, I made it across, but Cheryl was too afraid and clung to a light post. At that time, an Army Recruiting Center was nearby. A soldier in full uniform came out of there, and saw Cheryl in her dilemma. He came to her rescue, and escorted her across Palatine Rd. I always wished I had a picture of that! Rest in heavenly peace, Cheryl!
While I didn't know Doug that well in high school, I'm glad I had the opportunity to have a one in one conversation with him the last time I saw him. I think that might have been at our class reunion. My condolences go to his family!

I am sorry to report that Rick Peterson, former Fremd band director, passed away on Wednesday. He was a really great guy and fun educator. We will miss him!
