
Barry Alan Phillips, age 61 of Panama City, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home.
Barry was born January 3, 1954 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to William J. and Betty Joyce (Cobb) Phillips and moved to Panama City in 1986 coming from Virginia Beach, VA. Barry is a United States Naval Veteran who served his country for over 15 years and was a member of Callaway VFW and Fleet Reserve. He was currently employed with Wyndam Hotel & Resorts as an engineering mechanic. Barry loved collecting eagles and trains and was an avid Nascar fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Adam Phillips.
Barry is survived by his long-time companion and fiancé, Joyce Sabo of Panama City; his daughter, Darlene Almond of Jacksonville, FL; his step-daughter, Amber Patterson of Panama City; his step-son, Anthony Anzaldi of Panama City; his sister, Debra (Jerry) Irby of Hephzibah, GA; his brother, Kevin (Pam) Phillips of Walnut, KS; his nephews, Jason & Brian Irby, Joshua, Anthony and Dakota Phillips; his niece, Katie Phillips; his grandchildren, Stephanie & Christian Almond; step grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Taylor Patterson, Jonathan & Hannah Hysmith and Anthony Anzaldi, Jr. and his aunt, Arlene Phillips.
Friends will be received Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where funeral services will take place 11:00 am Saturday.
