  • "I have John Allen Robertson died peacefully at Transitions LifeCare Hospice Home in Raleigh on January 26, 2016. 

He was born February 22, 1954, to parents Leoma (Cook) and Lemuel Robertson in Panama City, Florida. He graduated from Bay County High School in 1972 and from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, in 1976. After working several years in sales for Boorum and Pease, he resumed his education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, earning an MBA in 1983. He worked at Continental Illinois Bank in Chicago before moving to Atlanta in 1986, and spent the remainder of his career with Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) Bank. 

He moved to North Carolina in 2006, where he resided in Morrisville and worked in Raleigh. He most recently served as a Credit & Risk Manager for the Corporate Banking Group, approving loans to large corporate borrowers across a variety of industries. Not only was he widely acknowledged as the "go to" person for large, complex transactions, he was a coach, mentor, and friend to many over his career.

John is survived by Sue Jinks-Robertson, his wife of 35 years; son Ben of Philadelphia; son Sam, his wife Shan and their two children of Cary; daughter Sarah of Raleigh; brother Don and his wife Dona of Griffin, Georgia; sister Evelyn Craft of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law Mary Catherine Jinks of Panama City, Florida; brother-in-law Russell Jinks and his wife Nancy of Panama City, Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was a devoted father, husband and brother.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 27, at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Durham. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Duke Cancer Institute (https://www.gifts.duke.edu/dci) and Transitions LifeCare (http://transitionslifecare.org).
