
Ronald (Ron) Shafer, 63 passed away, Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Dale Shafer and brother, Hal Shafer. Ron is survived by his mother, Donna Shafer, sister Jane Shafer Partee, (Scott) three nephews and two nieces.
Ron was born in Panama City, FL and was employed for more than twenty years at Convenience Equipment Rental. Ron enjoyed a very full life of adventure: hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, gardening and travels abroad. He loved this area of northwest Florida and it's history. He was blessed with many friends and never met a stranger. Ron's kindness and generosity were well known; his friends, family and acquaintances benefited from his generosity especially in sharing native plants and handmade art work. He leaves a legacy of storytelling and camaraderie. He will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at the Historic St. Andrews Church, 1004 Chestnut Avenue, Panama City FL 32401. The family will have visitation at 3 p.m. followed by a service at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Ron's favorite charity was the Heartland Animal Rescue Ranch; 1435 Skunk Valley Road Panama City, FL 32409.
