Yes, Glenn, it's a very small world.  You just never know who you might bump into.  My husband runs into polkice officers that he has known everywhere we go.  And it's amazing when you start to talk to people, that they seem to know the same people you know.  Or have lived the same place you lived and you woner how it is you never met them before. Or maybe you didn, but don't remember.....

I think they call that 6 degrees of seperation.  I attended a demographics meeting in Fresno and they talked about the close knit culture of the Hispanic community so much that the 6 degrees become 3 degrees. Unless........................You are in HELL, then it is 122 degrees!

The 5 day Hawaiian weather forecast. A low of 72 degrees to a high of 84. The trade winds will be gently blowing from the west 5-10 mph. Surf 3-4 feet on the north shore. Sunblock 300 is suggested as is a mai tai at 4pm. Sunset at 6:05pm, at which time a good bottle of champagne is mandatory. Look for the green flash as the sun dips below the horizon, a few glasses of champagne will help you see it.   A hui ho.

Believe it or not it was 97 degrees here in North Idaho yesterday, hot for us.

My good news today is that my son made it out of New York at 3:00 AM, the traffic was horrible. He went with a group of firemen, there were supposed to be 300 of them, but once Irene showed her ugly face many of them decided not to go. It was sad after all of the planning, and the 3,332 miles they rode to get there.  Oh well, God please  keep them safe on their way back home.

Ok, for all of you baseball players out there.  My son (yep, that's me talking about my son again, the one on the motorcycle ride to New York and back) anyway the firefighters in Chicago gave them tickets to the White Sox game tonight and they are sitting behing 2nd base in the 3rd row I believe he said.

I happy to say they seem to be having a great time on their travels back toward Idaho, and Spokane Wa.

Thanks for listening to me again.

Lynne

I think "hell is starting to freeze over."  Forecast for Labor Day:  High of a balmy 108, low of 88 with an inside temp of 79.   See Pat, it's not going to be so bad.

Lynne -- Sounds like your son is have a great trip despite Irene.

P.S.  Denny and I were just in the pool and the water temp was 93 degrees.  Does that make it a jacuzzi?

Listen, we just had our 3 days of summer.  I'm used to the low 80s.  It's in the high 60s at night.  I have to put on a sweater bout 7 o'clock.  I've had the air on for a total of 2 days this summer.

I have been trying to get acclimated to the hot weather before I get to Arizona.  I've been turning my oven on to about 400 degrees and standing in front of it with the door open.

Hey all

Have a great Labor Day weekend, please be safe whatever you do.  All of you going to the river or to Lake Havasu wear your sunscreen  , we don't want you to have wrinkles when you get old. I hear it's going to be very HOT. We will be wearing our sunscreen here in Idaho with the high of  90 or so they say.  Have fun, be safe.

Lynne

Heading out on the H-D's with another couple to San Luis Obispo for the 3 day weekend.  Should be crowded and cooler.  Some concerts, a little wine, and some clam chowders on the menu for sure.

I had a nice extended weekend. 1st in Vegas visiting a 2 year old, then in Lake Havasu visiting a 1 year old.  They were definitely entertaining.  It was wonderful seeing how they successfully manipulated their parents.  There is a great future for these two, especially in politics.  The grandparents had unheeded sage advice.  I'm sure we didn't make the same mistakes these parents are making.  Speaking of grandparents, Joetta came to Havasu on Sunday.  It was nice catching up on all of my cousins (her kids, grandkids & great grandkids).

It's been a long time since I was married.  I have to say I also enjoyed the interaction between Marcia & Denny when they were trying to fix their remote after Addie (the 1 year old) had been playing with it.  I thoroughly enjoyed all the antics this weekend while just sitting on the side lines.

I'm so glad Pat made it through her "weekend in hell."  It actually wasn't too bad weather-wise.  We had a little cool down thanks to some thunderstorms.

It was great seeing Joetta and catching up on what she and her kids are doing.  I also enjoyed our after-party "Sequence" game even though Diana and I were the losers! Congrats to Pat and Joetta.

The birthday party was a HUGE success although I'm not sure how Addy Rae managed to stay awake the whole day.  I guess she just didn't want to miss a thing, afterall it was her party!

As for the remote control fiasco, I'm glad we managed to entertain you, Pat!!  No more remotes for Addy!

Happy Birthday Billie, may you have an extra wonderful day and year.  I miss that we didn't have an opportunity to reconnect the last couple of years, but we will make up for it on our 45th!

All - Thanks for the birthday wishes.  Hope you're all doing well these days and enjoying the beauty that Fall brings... my favorite time of year!  Look forward to seeing you once again in 2013... sounds so far away, but in reality, our 45-year reunion is only a short 18 months from now!  Be well friends, and I'll see you soon.

Best,

Billie
