Wow!  I haven't looked on here for awhile.  It's nice to see that many of you are communicating.

For those  of you that attended, Capt. Raymond Collins Elem. School,  there is a Facebook site.  Check it out.

Again, I'm glad to see that some of you are in touch with each other.

I haven't noticed anyone posting the passing of yet another dear classmate Lee Millard, I saw it on our other class site on FB. Such sad news, please keep Maurene and family in your prayers!

Thank you Lynne for posting about Lee Millard passing away a week ago Sunday. It really hit the family hard. Such a shock. I am do glad I got to see him in Texas in October. I talked to him Thursday before he passed away that Sunday. We had a good talk about old times I told him he was still my brother and that I loved him. We both cried. RIP LEE  his great grandson was born this week.

I tried to add him to the memorial list here on this site...unless he was part of this website I had no way of adding him...maybe Pat or Phyllis can figure this out...I have added his name to another  on going list of our classmates who are not longer with us....sorry if you may have thought we forgot him....

I just looked him up in the year book and could not find him...was he in our class? We do not have him on our list of classmates we use for the reunions either....humm?

Carol, I don't think he was class of 68.

Lee went to Paramount High but in his senior year class of 68 he went to continuation school and got his diploma early. Lee was at the first two class reunions with all of us. Lee had to work to support himself that is why he got his diploma early.

Lorene that explains why he wasn't on the graduation list, however if he was at the first 2 reunions some where down the line his name has never been on any list as a classmate...

Carol,

Yeah, I don't know what happened about his name not being on a list. I stand corrected though on Lee. I talked to Maurene as to why he went to continuation school.

Lee was a varisty football player at Paramount High with a letterman jacket. He got hurt in our Jr. year and was laid up for 6 months, therefore he had home school and then went to continuation school where he graduated early in our senior year. He got his diploma in January, 1968.

I  have been reading some of the latest post, it is nice to know there are still some of us on our old PHS site. Phyllis did all of us a huge favor by creating this site so that we could all re-connect.

i was reading some of the comments about Lee, I can still remember Lee and Maurene walking around school he was so much taller than her. However, NOTHING like Dave Wright (R.I.P.) and our little Susie Wilson. :)

i know it has been a rough few weeks for The BuSteed family, I am keeping you all in my prayers. I know the grieving process as many of you do it doesn't just go away in a month. R.I.P. Lee, I am glad I was able to reconnect with you a little even though it was only through the mail.

Life is precious and short, love to all.

Lynne

Good Morning Everyone!

Just checking in and hope that all of you have a wonderful weekend! TGIF

I am going to be working on the back yard this weekend. Roland has gone to the Fontana races with our son and grandsons. It's a male bonding experience. They've gone for several years now. They always ask me to go and I would love to go but it gives them a chance to be together and besides that, I get a chance to do other things (a little me time).

The backyard is coming along beautifully. The stamped concrete is completed. All the concrete was removed from the backyard and around the pool. The fence is being installed across the back and the new gate goes up on Monday. The pond is getting there with stone on the wall. I will post pictures this weekend or should I wait until its all done? My granddaughter Abbey has her 3rd birthday in May. She wants a swimming party at grandmas and papas house. Her timming is perfect. Don't know what happened, but the silly girl cried for a birthday party last year, she was so excited about playing with her cousins that she did not realize it was her birthday and forgot all about the birthday cake. I went to Sam's club during the summer and came across a little cake with cake inside ice cream cups. It was so cute. I drove it straight out to Beaumont to her. Needless to say she was so excited about it. Things we do.

Hope everyone has a moment or two to just drop a line here and there. Does not have to be much. Just say Hi!

Love to all.

Lorene

Hi classmates,

li hope that someone will read this post and that we can get this site up an active again.

It seems that we are losing classmates more and more, I know this is the circle of life but it really hits home when they were folks we spent some of our young lives with. I haven't noticed Lee Millard's name on our Memory list yet, but as many of you know Lee passed recently. I hope some of you have reached out to Maurene and her family, I think that's one of the great things about our PHS site. It gives us the option to support one another.

I know this past Oct. when I was in the hospital so very sick, that I had so many prayers from many of you and I am sure it's why I am here today, my doctor said I was a lucky lady.

I was wondering if any of our classmates or their family members have been affected by the Horrible Disease Alzheimer's, I know Dottie lost her sweet husband and another classmate has a wife that had the disease. As most of you know I lost my amazing Mom to this disease, which concerns my brother and I greatly. I would just like to know if any others out there have been affected by this disease.

I don't mean for this to be a bummer post!!!  Sorry if it bothered anyone.

Lynne

I lost my grandmother, an aunt and now my mother has the beginning stages this past year....it is so sad to see this happen to the ones we love so dearly....with all this in my family I live in fear daily this will happen to me also.....I keep myself active and always involved in something to keep my mind busy.....it will be a blessing to find a cure some day.....Lee was not on this sight and I have tried to add his name to the list but it will not let me....we will figure it out soon I hope...

Carol, I think you would have to add Lee Millard as a classmate first. His real name was Noah Leon Millard with his birthdate as January 17, 1950. Maybe that will work? What do you think?

Lorene

Phyllis Willhite

I have added Lee Millard.

My husband just ask me how many classmates were in our class of 1968, I have no idea but I know someone knows.

Carol Maddex (Switzer)

Accordian to the grad program it was 389, but that number is a little low due to the fact we had classmates who didn't partispate in the cermony who were part of our class.
