Well, soon after graduation, the draft board caught up with me, as you know the Viet Nam War was on. I spent a total of 6 years in the Marines and survived... some were not so lucky. I spent 8 1/2 years on a police force in Orange County, and at the same time went to school, became a private pilot with several thousand hours now... did a little aerial photography, got into custom building old Schwinn Sting-Rays and more, Got married the first time in 1975, my biggest mistake, she hired a hit man to kill me after 5 years that made three attemps.. stayed single for 18 1/2 years... I have had cancer a few times from chemicals in the Marines I think, and have survived that too. I married again 6 years ago to a wonderful lady from Costa Rica, cute-classy=and a whole lot younger than me.. not planned, just happened... I am currently a Supervisor over an office in Santa Clarita for L.A. County Public Works and have been there for over thirty years.. Up until 5 years ago, I went back to the Homecomings at Paramount and played in the band, and still play my Tuba... I played in a City Orchestra for three years and several church orchestras... As many of you may know, I rode a little Black Honda to school that I bought the summer of 1966. I kept it until it's 40th birthday.. It was sold back to the shop I bought it from and to the guy that sold it to me who now owns the business. He displays it in the front window of that Honda / Kawasaki Shop on Lakewood Blvd. just north of Alondra Blvd.. He also has a photo of it when I was sixteen and of me now.. what a difference.. in me of course.. take care, Michael W. Duncan
Any one remember Mr. Thornberg?? At the beginning of the year I had drawn a photo of him on paper in the back of the class, calling him Mr. Thornbird... he caught me... the rest of the year I had to draw a picture of him everyday and hand it in.. none could look the same...he actually kept all of them...
