After HS attended Compton JC for a few years trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. Attended Cal State Fullerton and got my first real job with the Air Force as a civilian at Edwards Air Force Base.
After a year or so I moved to Long Beach and worked for the Army Corp of Engineers. During this time I married Kathy Hanson, class of 1969, and started to work for a small structural engineering firm in Orange, CA. Got my Masters at Long Beach State in 1979. During this time I really enjoyed going to school. Years have gone by during which I worked for other firms, got divoiced, and then went out on my own.
Met my wife Paula at the local gym. We dated for a few years, had a boy, and eventually got married.
On another note:
A long time ago, I was designing an office building and guess who was at the meeting, Greg Brandel the plumbing contractor!! Another time, the steel fabricator on one of my buildings was Scale Steel in Paramount. I am pretty sure that was Lynn Scale's family business. I worked with a sprinkler contractor, Ron Burke, on several projects over the years. Guess what, Ron is Cheryl Thurlo's husband!! What a small world, isn't it?
