Billy Waugh

William D. “Billy” Waugh, husband of Bonnie Jean Hamrick Waugh, of Paris, departed this life on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at his home, with family by his side, having attained the age of 75years. Billy was born on January 20, 1948, in Danville, Kentucky, the son of the late Robert Gilkey and Maryfelix Swinford Waugh, was a 1966 graduate of Paris High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University, and a graduate of Central Kentucky Vocational School. He formerly worked for Square D in Oxford, Ohio, Weaver Corporation, as well as T.S. Engineering. He was a member of the Bourbon Street Cruisers, loved drag racing, car shows, cruise-ins, tent camping, the Cincinnati Reds, and U.K. sports. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

In addition to his wife Bonnie, he is survived by his son, Robbie (Elizabeth) Waugh; a daughter, Wendy (Matt Eichman) Waugh; two grandchildren, Carson Waugh, and Logan Waugh. Also surviving are several cousins.

The funeral service for William D. “Billy” Waugh will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Jeff Bell and Rev. Nancy Jo Kemper. Interment will follow in Paris cemetery with casket bearers being Tommy Smart, Ronnie Smart, Tommy Hanna, Dean Blackburn, Roger Wilburn, Russell Jarrell. Honorary bearers will be Larry Royalty, Gary Royalty, David Boggess, Wayne Wagoner, W.G. Talbot III, Danny Hamrick, Benton Day, Michael Wagoner, and Bruce Lawrence. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
