Jeanne was my lifelong friend. Our friendship started when I moved to Park Forest in 1953. We lived just three houses apart on Marquette Place and stayed in the same houses through high school. We were always close friends, playing and growing up together. We continued to stay in touch even after we both moved to different states, she to Florida and me to Texas. We would get together whenever possible, especially when Jeanne moved back to the Chicago area and I would come back to visit family and friends. She fought a courageous and gracious 3 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer, and I will always admire her positive attitude. Even when she was in the hospital near death, she continued to fight so she could go home. I was with her during her final few days, just as we started 61 years ago. Jeanne my dearest friend, I will miss you always!
