I started working for the Pella Post Office in 1984 as a rural carrier. In 1986 I switched to the city side and am currently a city carrier. In 1988 I got married to Louise Mills from Osceola,Ia.When we got married Louise had a 12 year old daughter Melissa who I adopted in 1990. Along with working at the Post Office I also own a lawn care business that I started in 1993. This past January we became the owners of the bowling alley in Monroe,Ia called Mustang Lanes. This a dream that i've had for many years to own a bowling alley and finally got one. It keeps us very busy along with all the other jobs we have.
February 23,2008 has to be the worst day of our lives. We were in Albuquerque,New Mexico for the National Bowling Tournament when we got a call from our daughter that our 3 year old granddaughter, Evyn had passed away that morning. This has to be the longest day and saddest day in our lives. This experience has given a new meaning to life because you never know when someone so dear to you will be taken from you. We do have a very special 2 year old grandson Isaac who is very full of life and keeps us hopping when ever he is around.
