Frank, I did not know the derivation of '86' before; I'd only known it from the restaurant business where it means to throw out the food.  Then I became curious and found two dictionary definitions that only referred to throwing out something or barring someone from entering.  Sounds like the original meaning did not survive into the common usage.

I had never given much thought about the number 86 until all the uproar over Comey's photo of the seashells. I wouldn't be surprised if he arranged those himself, given his hatred for all things Trump. The number '86' can have multiple meanings related to the removal, elimination, or termination of a person, thing, or idea. "The committee decided to 86 their first plan." Or 86 everything in that storeroom." I read somewhere that it may have originated with the mafia's idea of how to eliminate a subversive: "8 miles out of town and 6 feet deep."

Frank W. Birth Rates have gone down. RFK Jr. says it could be the chemicals in our food. A friend of mine over here, (Californian) claims it has to do with ":Chemrrails" , you know, those white contrails that Jets leave when they get up at 30 thousand feet or so, and the  water vaper gets heated up from the exhaust gases from Jet Engines, he says that the US Govt. is purposely releasing heavy duty chemicals in the atmosphere to eventually sterilize all of us. My question is if that is true, then how come you hardly ever see so called "Chem Trails" over wllderness, and less densely populated areas. He says my question just proves his point.  I told him since he is as old as he is, then he needs to demonstrate how dangerous the Chem Trails really are, and go somewhere and Croak. We are no longer Friends. Actually, I believe that people who seroiously believe in Chem Trails should get in line to buy that Bridge that DeWitt is triying to sell. 

Sounds like the 60th Reunion and Beer Summit went great, At least I made it to Buckeye, before I had to replace a Ture, and them ate at the Red Devil in Phoenix, later in the evening before driving back here to arrive at 710 AM here. Now that I have good tires, See you Next time.

Excellent De Witt!  Everyone should watch on YouTube-"Before I go- Musk drops the final DOGE reveal".  May 9th----The left wing is mocking him for not finding 1 Trillion dollars because he thought he could.  DOGE so far is at about $200,000,000,000 (200 Billion).  That's a great start and there are some places in Government they aren't allowed to go yet!

For many years (decades) I said "Happy Memorial Day."  It is only recently that I have decided to say "Thank you to those who have fallen in defense of our country."  It's not a happy day for me per se, but one where I have a feeling of pride and gratitude.....and then some happiness.  

My Father's brother Sergeant Clair (Rex) Coats, U.S. Army landed in France on D-Day June 6, 1944.  He died somewhere in France on August 21, 1944.  My Dad never talked about Rex and I only found out some details after my folks passed away and I discovered the Purple Heart Medal and Citation Rex was awarded along with letters and cables from several people including the Secretary of War.

Rex died in a War I have only experienced through TV and movies and I thank him for his sacrifice in my prayers.  Like others in our graduating class, I have personally known fallen warriors and in honor of them I say:  Thank You For Your Sacrifice and I'll see you again when I'm called home.

We were born after the end of WWII and have no memories of it, only the stories of our fathers and newsreels shown on TV and in our early days in school, where we were shown films of the war. We did live through some wars, such as the Korean War and some brush wars, but we have few memories of those. Our generation's war was in Vietnam, where we lost several of our friends and classmates.  Although there were many opinions for and against that war, most of us were proud to serve our country. I joined the Coast Guard not to avoid the draft (as many did), but because it had been my lifelong dream. I felt it was better to be in a service that saved lives rather than taking lives, and I did get a chance to be involved in saving the lives of sailors on a sinking cargo ship. My heart goes out on this Memorial Day for all those who served our country and paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country free.

Jim is right. It is not a happy holiday but a solemn memorial.

Excellent Bill and others!  Our Veterans for Veterans Association put American Flags on each grave of a Veteran in our cemetery, two went all the way back to the Civil War.  We had a ceremony that included a eight airplane flyover and they performed a Missing Man maneuver.  The plane that flew away from the formation and in a downward direction had smoke (from a smoke canister) coming out the back.  Quite emotional!  Thank you to all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and to the families who had to suffer the pain of loss!!  God Bless America!!

I just heard an interesting take on Joe Biden.  I have wondered before about his big left wing swing.  Remember how he was always pretty moderate?  His brother Senator was John McCain.  Now we know that the Left Wing of the Democrat Party was running the Country.  Annita Dunn (google her) was instrumental in decisions in the White House.  She hid in the shadows in the administration while actively sitting on the Board of Phiser (sp).  I wonder if any Covid decisions were based on her advice and how much she made on those decisions?  (Can you say insider trading?)  I'm betting she was in direct connection to the Obama's the whole time Biden was in office.  Someone pointed out that the first Presidential debate last year was the earliest debate ever and that the leaders of the Democratic Party wanted to wash Doe-Doe Joe out and they knew he would F.U.!!

It's time for Trump to put all the sanctions on Russia, as many as we can all at once. A slow applications allows for adjustments over time. Putin needs to get hit hard all at once. Putin is all about delay and continue to inflict damage on Ukraine. He is a murderous evil POS!

Bill, I think you meant PUT all the sanctions on Russia.  "Drop" can be construed as removing and I'm sure that's not what you are suggesting?  I agree we need to punish him.  It's a shame the Russian people have to be punished in the process.  Most of them are against the war.
