Life Since High School
After graduation I went to hairdressing school and worked in that field until 1983. I went to business school at night and started working for a lawyer before moving on to a job with an actuarial firm in Philadelphia. After three company acquisitions, I find myself with almost 25 years of service with Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. which is a national TPA processing disability, liability and workers comp claims for Fortune 500 companies like General Motors, General Electric and USAir. I am responsible for almost 1200 employees in 17 offices up and down the east coast. You wouldn't believe some of the stories I could tell you about what employees do at work. I think I'll write a book when I retire!
In 1970 I married Ray Cheesman (class of '66). In 1975 Ray and I had a son, Kevin. In 1983 Ray and I divorced and I remained single until 1989 when I married Tom Kanz (class of '76). Tom and I live in Berlin, NJ now and have children with four legs and fur. I'm looking forward to retirement and having the time to travel, sit on the beach, and grow my roses.
