Eric's Latest Interactions
I remember lots of walks home from school together. Also, Friday nights playing touch football under the lights on Grant City's parking lot (including the night JFK died). And of course his machine-gun laugh. Rest in peace, Barry.
Danny was one of the good guys. He was nice to this sophomore-year ORHS newbie, even showing me how to smoke safely in the boys room.
Never mind that I was not a smoker. I just wanted to look cool when he offered me a cigarette.
Rest in peace, Dan.
I was fortunate to see Mr Lu a few years ago, when retired ORHS history teacher Mr Ewan (!) hosted a public showing of his outdoor model train setup at his Atco home. Mr Lu showed up, as they were good friends. Our '67 classmate Joyce Matthews Scheller was there too.
If I understood him correctly, Mr Lu played basketball alongside the Celtics great Bill Russell during his time at the University of San Francisco.
Growing up in coal country (Shenandoah, Schuylkill County PA), Mr Lu said he remembered people kept pieces of rope as souvenirs that had been used for hanging miners during union troubles, and that always astonished him.
Rest in peace, Mr Lu.

Hi Eric, I had to change my pass word to sign in and saw you were on line. I hope all is well, been a long time. Happy New Year!

Ey Ric, Don't know if you remember me calling me greeting you "Ey Ric" instead of Eric? I can remember many great times during ORHS days we shared. Great to see you are doing well. You look the same as 50 years ago!

I have given my notice, and will retire from Subaru of America (Cherry Hill HQ, accounting dept) 5/27/16.
I am thinking of it as a l-o-o-o-n-g Memorial Day weekend.
Typing proved to be one of the most valuable things I learned in high school. Thanks, Miss Gerhart, for teaching me the right way to type quickly. And thanks for putting up with us guys. It was not easy for you, heaven knows.
