After high school I was fortunate enough to play in the Wyoming High school football All Star Game (The Shrine Bowl) & did pretty well which helped earned me an athletic scholarship to the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. I played Football, Basketball & Track at the U of M my freshmen year but that was a little difficult trying to do with all the studying. Football was my sport of choice. Trying to do so much athletically, I could not gain weight for football, so the next year I only played football. Guess that is not a problem anymore as I am now as big as a house. By the time I was a senior in college my football career took off making All American as a defensive end, I received a few NFL try outs but ended up getting injured and not making it into the NFL unfortunately.
I now live in Laramie, Wyoming now with my family: wife, Laurie, who would have thought that we would get together 14 years after high school, she used to stalk me! Daughter Ryan & son Michael. I have another daughter Aspen Jaskolski that lives with her mom. In 2004, I was in a pretty bad car accident which nearly took my life, basically I crushed the left side of my body. It has been very hard for me since. I have always been the big strong guy and now I am just a big guy not able to do athletic things like I used to. I guess some of that is just getting older! Laurie & I still want to have another child so maybe in the near future there will be another Jaskolski.
Memory from school, one that sticks out has to do with Todd Stam. It was track season and they just got the new rubber tack completed. We went to the football field for practice. I thought Todd threw a piece of rubber at me over my head. So when Todd was looking at me I threw the discus in his direction. He did not see me throw it and turned around. I yelled and Todd turned back to me when the discus hit him in his groin (junk). I felt so bad, really bad! But the funny part of the story is how Todd showed everyone his junk: Mr. McGuffy & Mr. Myers on the ramp. Todds junk swelled up bad & turned all kinds of colors. He was pissed since Prom was just a week away. Sorry Todd, but we all know it still works since you have all those great looking kids!
