Sister Regina Clare Hart, CSJ, 95, died Saturday, Aug, 8, 2009, in her 80th year as a Sister of St. Joseph of Baden. The daughter of Peter and Alicia Maher Hart, Sister Regina Clare entered the Congregation from Sacred Heart Parish, Conemaugh. For more than 70 years, Sister ministered in the field of education. She taught in many elementary and secondary schools in the Pittsburgh, Altoona-Johnstown, Greensburg, and Detroit, Mich., dioceses. She served as principal and teacher at the former St. Mary School, New Castle, 1956-57. At St. Joseph High School, Natrona, Sister Regina Clare was teacher from 1968-78, and principal from 1978-84. Later she returned to St. Joseph High School and ministered as Dean of Students and Mentor from 1993-2002. Sister also shared her gifts as an excellent educator while serving as Coordinator of Teacher Development at St. Mary, Kittanning, and St. Thomas More, Bethel Park. From 1986-1993, Sister Regina Clare was the Curriculum Coordinator and Teacher Mentor for the Sisters of St. Joseph. Her wisdom, understanding and insight touched the lives of students and teachers alike. Sister is survived by nieces, including St. Joseph Sister Natalie Lann, nephews, grandnieces and -nephews, great-grandnieces and -nephews, and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sisters' Motherhouse in Baden. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Motherhouse Chapel. Burial will follow in the Sisters' cemetery on the Motherhouse grounds.
