Duane Reeves

Duane Alan Reeves went to be with Jesus on October 25, 2022 at the age of 77. Born in Floydada, Texas on November 18, 1944 to the late Grady and Cleo Reeves; he now reunites with his parents; brother, Gary Reeves; and in-laws, Alvin and Dorothy Blankenship.

Duane married the love of his life, Virginia, on June 11, 1971. Together they had two children: Kevin and Kara. Duane had a passion for art and obtained his B.A. and Masters of Fine Arts from West Texas State University. He taught Art at Estacado Junior High School and Plainview High School.

He stayed busy with different organizations such as being president of the Plainview Lions Club and member of the Bella Vista Men's Chorus.

Duane loved singing in church choirs, volunteering at South Plains Food Bank and St. Benedicts Chapel, attending football games with family, and had a passion for flowers and gardening. His presence and love will be missed dearly.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Virginia Reeves; his son, Kevin Reeves and wife Lori; daughter Kara Darnell and husband Jim Bob; brother, Randell Reeves and wife Lois of Lockney, Texas; grandchildren, Katlin and Phenix; brother-in-law, John Blankenship and wife Juanita of Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Teak Reeves of Carrolton, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family celebrated his life at Celebration of Life Memorial Service in Resthaven's Funeral Home Abbey chapel.
