Marion Spain

Marion Earl "Butch" Spain was born March 20, 1945 to Odis and Emaline (Bruington) Spain in Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1963 and attended Wayland Baptist University. He married Shelia Spencer on June 18,1966, in Plainview. Butch and Shelia lived in Plainview, Pampa, Wichita Falls, and moved to Lubbock 16 years ago. Butch was an Insurance Adjuster for General Adjustment Bureau.  He was an active member of the Redbud Lions Club. Butch loved every kind of sport, whether it was watching or participating. He was preceded in death by his father, Odis Spain. Those that survive him are his wife, Shelia; a son, Mark Spain of Shallowater; three grandchildren, Seth, Shelby and Chase Spain, all of Shallowater; his mother Emaline Spain; a sister, Trena Dittberner and husband Tommy, all of Andrews. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life this evening 6-8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wed, Aug. 17, 2011 in Lake Ridge Chapel with committal services in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Our beloved Butch went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug.14, 2011. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, the Texas Kidney Foundation, the Great Plains Eye Bank or the Texas Lions Children's Camp in Kerrville, Texas.
