Fredericksburg - Sam McDowell Stewart, 47, formally of Petersburg died Sunday, June 20 1993, at his home after a lengthy illness with cancer. Graveside services were held in Lockhart Cemetery on Monday, memorial services will be at Honey Creek Farm, Landon Road, at 11 a.m. Sat, with the Rev.Sam Jenkins and the Rev. Rick Waters officiating. Arrangements are by Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mr. Stewart was born Aug. 1, 1945 in Plainview and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1963. He graduated from North Texas State University where he was a member of Sigma Nu.

He was in mortgage banking in Dallas and was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Honolulu Morgtage Company of Honolula, Hawaii. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rotary International and Texas Mortgage Bankers Association.

He married Camey Spaulding in 1967.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Sam Jr. of Austin and Will of Fredericksburg; His mother, Marian Stewart of Kerrville; a brother, Bob of Plano; a sister, Beth of Fredericksburg; his father-in-law, James Spaulding, of Austin; and two nephews. His father Robert William Stewart Jr., is deceased.
