Tell us who and what you are all about.

I got married to escape going to college!! The only good thing that came out of that was Eric!
I worked in a nursing home and raised Eric in Yankton, I decided I did want to go to college so I went to USD and received my Social Work degree for working with the elderly. Eric and I moved to Bridgewater in 1992, he was not real pleased for a 12 year-old! I worked in the nursing home as the Social Worker until 1998.
Four years after Eric's death I started drinking very heavily (that's an understatment!!). On August 2nd, 1999 I had the Wrath of Tom Dobbs on me again!! I was 38 going on 12 again!!! My family intervened and I did outpatient treatment in Yankton. I stayed with Mom and Dad for approximately two months!!! Imagine being 38, trying to stay sober and living with your parents, AGAIN!!!! I have been sober now for nine years.
I have since then, decided it was time to live for me!!! I have my own business, Home and Garden Party, and this allows me to do other things in the community as well. I help out at the grocery store and pharmacy and I love every minute of it.

How often do you get back to Platte?

I haven't been back to Platte for quite a few years. Since my family lives in the Yankton area now I don't get back that often.

What did you want to do or think that you were going to do after highschool?

Get married and live happily ever after!!! Yeah right! I didn't want to go to college!!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spend time with my animals, garden in the summer

Do you like to travel? Where was the last place you went?

Yes, with my business I get to some place every year. In July I went to Las Vegas! Wow!! I'll take small town living any day. If you have ever been there, you get many TRADING CARDS from kids on the the street corners!!!

Rock & Roll/ new age, swing, country, you name it!! The last CD I think was INXS!!! Eric's favorite!!! I love that CD!!!
