I was already married to Conrad Kuipers. We moved to my family farm nw of Academy, raised my 3 kids. I took an EMT course in Platte in the early 90s. I worked part time for the Missouri Valley Ambulance in Chamberlain for a few years, work part time for the Brule County Jail/911 Dispatcher. Worked full time for the Charles Mix County Sheriff's Office as a 911 Dispatcher for 6 years. Worked full time for State Radio Dispatch in Pierre for 2.5 years. Moved to Sioux Falls in 2005, worked for Qwest fas a Loyalty and Sales Rep for 6 months, then with the Minnehaha County Jail for the last 3 years.

I remember going to New Holland during lunch break the first day that I got to drive the car to school. I took along a couple classmates. We didn't make it back to school that afternoon because I wrecked my parents car on a gravel road near Harley Munneke's house. We were lucky that no one got hurt! Although I do believe Dawn Johnson hit her head on one of the doors.

I am a correctional officer at the Minnehaha County Jail/Work Release Center. I also Volunteer for the Minnehaha County Search and Rescue Squad. I am currently the State Treasurer for the SD Emergency Medical Technicians' Association.
