After High School Jim worked for various places/people in Platte and after we were married we moved to Lamar, CO in 1982 for about a year and a half, there Jim was a welder for the Neoplan Bus Factory.
We moved back to Platte where Jim worked at the Sale Barn until we finally decided to get our degrees. Jim attended Mitchell Vo Tech and became an electrician.
Canistota, SD was where we decided to raise our children. Jim did a fine job and was a great father and husband. He truly cared about people. Everyone loved Jim, i.e. Jimmy, Cowboy, Jr. , Jimmy Olsen WAS Supeman's Best Friend!
Jim died on March 11, 1995 from injuries sustained in a head on collision on a icy winter road.
Interesting facts: Jim was 33 years old when he died. Jesus was 33 when he was crucified on the cross. Jim's children's ages at the time of his death were Joseph 11, Jeanne 9, Jacey 7, Jimmy 4 and Jeb 2... if you add them up it adds up to 33. (Jim always loved useless trivia!)
Jim was one of the first people that talked to me when I came to Platte. Maybe it was because I had a funny accent, but I will always remember that he was one of the first to make me feel welcome. He was also the first cowboy I meet and he gave me my first (and LAST) taste of chew. He made school fun. We miss you Jim.

My first kiss was from Jim in 6th grade. He kissed me when we were at the roller rink. He was always so nice to me.Renae (Wynia) Kuipers
