I've been Flippn' burgers and baggn' fries for 25 yrs, and as weird as it may sound, I still love it!
I lived in Parkston, SD for about two years. I met and fell in love with Julie Thury. We got married on June 1st 1985 in Platte at First Reformed Church (Where else!) by my Dad (Of course). We bought a restaurant in Wagner in the fall of '85 and opened the third Boom's. We have been here ever since.
On June 2nd 2002 I became a Christian. Yeah, I know, I'm a preacher's kid I should have been a Christian. But I wasn't. I promise I won't beat you over the head with Jesus stuff but it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. To really freak you guys out, I am the youth leader and I speak at our Church (Wagner Community Church)on a regular basis.
I still play basketball (still not very well) once a week with some other old guys trying to re-live the old glory days (did we have glory days?).
I am on the WCS School board and (kind of) enjoy that.
I love my family and my life!!

When Dave Strand and I put a stink bomb in the vent system in the basement of the school and nobody noticed. We thought it was funny.

I see Don Dehaan. His step daughter is in our youth group and she is a wonderful kid. I see Greg Vanderpol and Shelly Dobbs whenever they stop in to the restaurant. I probably see alot of other people from Platte from our era but I either can't remember their names or don't recognize them.

Not very often since my parents left. I do enjoy going back and seeing all the changes. I try to travel through once a year on my way to the Hills.

I think I went to college, but my Freshman, Sophmore and Junior years are kind of hazy. I attended SDSU. This was the most expensive party I ever went to.

Make a lot of money (I failed)...play professional basketball (I never got recognized...still confusing??) I did not have any definite plans...but I love what I am doing now.

What is that???? Playing with my son and my grandchildren...playing and watching (Kentucky) basketball.

Yes! We just recently returned from Hawaii where Amber graduated from college. It was wonderful. This was the second most expensive party I ever went to. Hopefully we can travel to France next winter to see our daughter and son-in-law and catch some basketball games!

I had my picture taken with Governor Rounds a couple years ago when he ate at Boom's.

I've raised three beautiful (and successful) girls and a wonderful son. This is the coolest thing I've ever done and I can't think of anything that can top that.
