Very sorry to hear of Woody's passing. We first met in the summer of 1953 when we attended the International Boy Scout Jamboree on the Irvine Ranch in Southern California, which is now Newport Beach. We had many memories and life changing experiences. Woody was our political leader at Grant, serving as Student Body President. Margaret was his Vice President. He also later served in key leadership roles in the city of Seattle. He was a great orator and energetic leader. Our thoughts are with Carol Anne and her family.
Was sadden to hear about another of our high school and Alameda grads has passed. Will try to submit a picture taken from Alameda days. Woody is in the back row.
Woody, I thought, t would be President someday. He had style, the self-confidence and the talent. He went ""East" for school., did politics in Seattle.. At that time, my classmates thought if you were smart you'd go to Stanford and if super-smart- to Reed.. Going over the Rockies was a kind of betrayal/. Alas, many Grantonians went over the mountins; most came back! I always admired Woody in spite of his Ivy League education (joke)..
I did't see him much after I went east. He was a man of of dignity and charm.

Woody and I go back to our days at Alameda Grade School. Those were good times with lots of special memories. My deepest sympathies to his family.
