Dear Classmates,

Margaret Sturgill, Chair of the Historical Society of The Pound has contacted us. The Historical Society is trying to preserve part of PHS and they need all of our help. The following are the details:

PHS FUNDRAISER TO DISPLAY GRANITE TEXT

Pound High School is being demolished. Through a huge volunteer effort, the five heavy slabs of granite, engraved "Pound High School" has been removed from the building. At the Historical Society of The Pound, 8404 Main Street, Pound, VA, the plan is to display the engraved stone text along with a large framed picture of the school. Preserving the stone text with the photo will be a lasting memento to the decades of Pound’s educational history.

To complete this plan, the Historical Society of The Pound needs your help. The estimated cost to complete the project is around $6,000. The goal is to complete the project by Memorial Day, May 30, 2022 and your monetary donations are needed and greatly appreciated.

With so many Pound High School Alumni attending PHS during the 57 years of education, it shouldn’t take us very long to raise the necessary money and accomplish this goal. No matter the amount that you contribute, your donation will help complete this project.
