To all of you who have had the opportunity to travel, (Tom , Frank and a few more) congratulations, you have accomplished what you set out to do. For those who have not had the opportunity, do not wait. there is so much to do in a short period of time. Take care of yourself!!!

Mike,

Anne & I had a blast!  I can certainly appreciate the Key West lifestyle!  It is a bit chilly up here at this time of year -- tomorrow it will be down to -4; -34 with the wind chill.  But then it will be in the balmy 40s on Sunday!

The Schooner Wharf tab remains open for you, but only for Guinness. smiley  Regarding your books, I started with your lastest, "Mistaken Identity."  I liked it so much (especially the locale in Dublin, which I know quite well), I went back to the beginning and read  "Chasin' the Wind," and then "Free Range Institution."  Any others you care to send my way will be greatly appreciated.  I know you're working on another, but "Banned in Boston" doesn't work anymore.  NOTHING is banned in the People's Republic of Massachusetts!  That's why so many people are moving to Florida. wink

We're both looking forward to a return visit to Key West, and rest assured I'll keep you posted.  Take care and stay in touch!

Tom The Peoples Republic of Massachusetts. I laughed out loud at that bit of wit. But it is so the truth. My wife and I moved to Bradenton on our west coast. It was nice and quiet until northern governors started taxing the hell out of We The People. Now I have rrouble driving anywhere because there are so many cars on the road with out of state tags. We even have a nice Ice Rink here about a mile from the house. I still have my skates but I live in fear that if I ever fell on my arese I wouldn't be able to get up. I have to many metal parts I earned through my building years.in construction

If youever get down to Naples you need to visit "Seed to Table"  The place is huge, and the rest rooms, at least the mens anyways have urinals that have some art work that leaves you with a chuckl. You'll get a kick out of it. Oh and the urinals are not made by dominion so your voth actually counts, and you can vote as often as you want.

Take care, Jerry T

The Presidents Trophy seems to be more of a curse than a pat on the shoulder for being the best in the NHL. After each Bruins goal they panned the crowd and the elation was just over the top. Then in that last minute when the Cats scored I knew then that the Bruins weree toast. When I was young I was always a Bruins fan. Then Florida got the Panthers franchise and I was mixed. While I was in the Military I got stationed at Otis where we used to go into the Combat Zone and midnight Mass at the Arch Sreet Chapel. Good Catholics, all buzzed. Those were the good old days. Then I saw that the Boston Marriot welcomed about 700,000 Satanic followers to down town Boston. I thought what a bad mojo that is, some really dark karma for the Bruins on a night where they needed to shine. They said thsat the Satanists did some kind of ritual that was dedicated to Boston. If I were that mayor I would get as many Priests, Pastors and Rabbis as I could find and do an exorcism to give the Celtics, Red Sox and the Pats a chance. Hey there is always next year.

Well guys,   it's that time of year again!  A week from today (June 13 at 1:30PM), 26 of your male classmates will be gathering at The Common Market (Café de Paris) for our annual Spring Luncheon.  If any other guys of the class of '64 would like to join us please send me an email (tjb0496@gmail.com) or send me a text (617-529-5306) and I can fill you in on th details.  This year we have at least 4 new members who will partake in the festivities for the first time.  It's a great time to catch up with guys you haven't seen in 50+ years! And as always, the more the merrier!  Looking forward to hearing from you!

Saw Bill Curran at the dry cleaners in Plymouth today after 59 years. Still looks pretty darn good after all that time. Great to run into you Bill!

I bumped into John Moody yesterday turns out we've been neighbors for 5 yrs and didn't know it, Pinehills is big and getting bigger,  you would have thought we would have seen each other at the Golf Club.   My wife asked "how come you remember with clarity what you did 50-60 yrs ago but forget what we did last month?  I don't have a good answer for that.      Good talking to you John

Only saw one beer bottle! If you ever hold a luncheon around Noth Florida I'd make the day-long journey to swap lies with you all! Maybe a Cuba Libre or two considering we'd be in Florida where there are more Cuban than in Havana!

Throw back Thursday.  Hello there fellow classmtes! A couple of photos to share: the first from 60 + years ago! A group of us were senior prom ushers in our junior year.  Copley Hotel in Boston and I'm sure we had a wonderful time.  So much so that one of the couples married: Katherine (Kathy) Coughlin and Ed Marchant...today happily married and chasing grandkids around. So it must've been a good time!

The other photo was taken last Tuesday at our "guys" luncheon held twice a year. Since Jack D'Angelo was coming in from out West, Dean Souke and Bruce London decided to attend also. And Tom Kiley put time aside to join in so we , the male ushers, decided it would be fun to visit our attics , retrieve our old tuxes and after a few minor adjustments ;) do it up once again.  Our good friend, Lee Munson was missing. And Lee, ol' sport, if you are plugged in to this, you were missed. Special thanks to Tom Burns for putting these luncheons  together.  So there you have it, lots of fun and I'm grateful to be part of this wonderul class of '64!

For those of you not sure who it is, let me be of assistance: Ladies first, left to right. Coreen Bowen, Elsie Menslage, Sandy Saleme, Miss McCoy (did we really need a babysitter?), Katherine Coughlin (who as I mentioned married the good looking guy behind her) Patricia (Trish) Grant (my favorite next door neighbor; we grew up across the street from one another. Well, she grew up anyway. :).  Last but not least, my high school sweethear, Joanne Gunning.

Back row: L to R is Dean Souke, our very own Tom Kiley, Lee Munson, Ed Marchant, Jack D'Angelo and yours truly. Sadly Coreen and Elsie, two wonderful people, are no longer with us. The handsome guys in next photo are lined up the same.

I hear rumblings of a '60" reunion in the works, so hopefully see you all there and have a wonderful summer, Don

Don, where did you find Lee Munson, he has been among the missing. Great pics, thanks for posting.

Don,  very creative photo work!  Great to see the tuxes still fit everyone!smiley  Maybe it's time to create a new game amongst the classmates --- "Where In The World Is Lee Munson."

Jonathan, you're in!  I've added your email address to the distribution list and you'll receive all further communications to the group.

Mick, while a few of us opted for a Florida venue (Key West, so you wouldn't have to travel!), there wasn't a lot of support for it. There would only be a few of us sharing made-up stories at the Schooner Wharf Bar!  (Which is not necessarily out of the question). wink

For anyone interested in reading Mick's books (I think I counted 15 or so), You can find him on Amazon under Michael Haskins and most of his books are based in Key West where he lives. Mick's main character throughout the series is Mick Murphy, a renegade journalist who's always getting in trouble.  Fun summer/beach reads!

Once again, the "All Scores Are Approximate" golf team played in  the 2023 North Quincy High School Football Alumni scholarship golf tournament along with another 126 North grads from years past. We weren't the oldest 4-some on the course, but getting very close to it! 😂

This year's event was held on Monday, June 26 at Quashnet Valley in Mashpee and we enjoyed beautiful weather.  Here we are just goofing off and resting up for our turn to tee it up.  I must say, this team played some damn good golf this year!

This year's honorees were Paul McAuliffe and Richie McCarthy.

Is there an easy way to log on to other North class websites before and after the class of 64?

07/01/23 08:23 AM #1023

Diane T Mulcahy (Malmgren)

The websites for other NQHS years cannot be accessed.

This is some information about a few other classes provided by a co-administrator for the class of '63:

  • The Class of 62 is gone, their root admin did not keep up after their 50th and CC (Class Creators) finally took them out for non-payment.
  • The administrator from 65 was the inspiration for her class but I don't see that anywhere either.  She may have gone a different route and not used CC.
  • The root admin, for the class of 63, does not want any "guests" on their site.

I had asked if we could have a classmate use the "Contact Me" to post a message for a specific classmate in 63.  The indication was that the root admin would not be willing to get involved doing that.

I opened our In Memory pages and Classmate Profile pages so they can be accessed by other classes.  However, the Classmate Profile page only gives the names of our classmates, because it's impossible to limit access to only other NQHS classes.  And personal info would be available to anyone.

I occasionally get an email from a NQHS Alumni site.  They list several classmates from different years.  I used it a few times to send a message to a classmate, but never got a reply,

Thanks Diane. It's too bad we can't reach out to others for the various reasons you spell out.  It should make ALL of us appreciate even more, the great job you do administering our site!  I hope there's some kind of backup or succession plan should you decide at some point you can no longer do it.

All my best to Dave and I hope you are both doing well. Lunch on the Boardwalk this summer? smiley

I've enjoyed doing the website, but after 10 years,  it gets boring at times.  I think it needs an infusion of new blood that would bring new ideas to the site.  I'd welcome anyone (or more) that wants to volunteer to be a co-administrator and, if they want to take over entirely at some point, it would be fine with me.  In any event, I think someone should be familiar enough with the site to take over if necessary.  I'd be glad to show anyone the ropes.  It's not hard (and if I can do it...), and Class Creators has a lot of helpful videos.  They've also been great about helping me when I need it.  Also, administrators from other classes around the country are very helpful and I got a lot of ideas from them when I started out.

I get the impression that some other classes reunion committees are involved in helping withe their sites. No one on our committee sems to be interested.

So, if anyone is interested in helping out, let me know.  I can set you up as co-admin and you can view the help videos and other sites to see if you're interested.

Maybe see you at the parade?  Lunch on the boardwalk sounds good.

Happy 4th everyone!

And stay tuned in for information about our upcoming 60th reunion!
