After graduating from Quitman High School in 1957, I lived in Houston and worked for Brown & Root for awhile, then for Houston Contracting for about four years. They build cross country pipelines. Then I applied and was hired by Eastern Airlines as a Flight Attendant. I worked for them for about six years. During that time, in 1964, Eastern picked me and three other flight attendants to work the Presidental Campaign airplane for the Goldwater/Miller ticket. They did not win, but I wonder how my life might have been different if they did win. I met my future husband during this time as well. We were married on March 02, 1966. Bob had a career with Procter&Gamble. We have lived in Miami, Jacksonville, Fla, San Francisco, Los Angeles, CA, Cincinnati, Ohio, Honolulu, Hi, Osaka, Japan, Cincinnati (again) and after 35 years with P&G, we retired to Lakeway, Texas, which is near Austin out by Lake Travis. We have two boys, Phil and Bobby. Unfortunately, Phil passed away in September 2008. Bobby works in the film industry in Los Angeles. On March 2nd, we will celebrate our 44th year of marriage. Bob retired from P&G about 13 years ago and started a small business representing specialty coffees and teas. He is enjoying his small business. I still play tennis about 3 times a week and golf maybe 2 times a week. We live in The Hills, Tx, a gated community. I have been Chairman of our Board of Governors at our The Hills Country Club. If you get a chance to visit our Club, my picture is hanging on the wall with all the other Board Chairman.
I was at Quitman High School for only one year, but found my classmates to be friendly and supportive. I wish I had known them longer than one year.
