Dawn Bugni

I worked for Square D Company in Knightdale, NC for 14 years and was recruited to Customer Service Manager for Chloride Systems in Burgaw, NC in 1990. I stayed for ten years until I left to become a professional recruiter for a few years.

From 2002-2007, I worked as office manager for a veterinary hospital part time while I built up my résumé writing and pet sitting businesses.

In June of 2007, I left "outside" employment and have been blissfully self-employed ever since. (Only problem -- I am the most difficult employee I've ever had to manage!)

I live on ten acres with six dogs, nine cats, two cockatiels, an aquarium and a flock of chickens. I share my life with my husband and best friend.

In October of 2009, after seven years, I opted to close my pet sitting business and focus on my career industry career.

Some of my favorite memories from high school come from working on the yearbook -- The Laurel -- first as faculty editor in my junior year and as yearbook editor in my senior year.

Ms. (Mary Belle) Pate was the advisor. I learned so much working under her guidance and had sooooo much fun doing it. I still use things I learned about layout and visual aesthetics from her. And don't laugh out loud, but I still find it difficult to write with anything but a black pen. (Ms. Pate said blue was unprofessional! :o) )

Remember the plaid armbands the Laurel staff wore the first of week of school in 1975? We told everyone that was the cover for our senior book -- much to everyone's horror! Well, almost everyone ... I remember a few, "Hey, what happened to the plaid cover?" questions as we handed out the books the following summer!

We were creating buzz before we knew creating buzz was cool!!

The modern day thrill comes from watching the yearbook slideshow on this site and knowing I had something to do with the preservation of those pics and our memories more than 30 years ago!
