An amazing person! Called 'Big Mama Princess' by several close friends. Despite battling numerous and serious health problems since 9th grade, she had a successful career as a surgical nurse. She never let her challenges defeat her. Her courage and faith in the Lord were inspirational to those who loved her. Her spirit will not be forgotten.
I am so sorry to hear about Linda. I did not know her well in high school but I worked with her some in the OR during my career. I agree with you Charles that even though she battled health problems most of her life she was always smiling and positive. I looked forward to seeing her and working with her. She was a wonderful OR nurse!
Linda and I knew OF each other at Broughton, but didn't KNOW each other. Our fathers were good friends in the business world, but she and I didn't really cross paths. Dad would occasionally ask if I'd "met that little Caldwell girl yet." When the 35th class reunion came around, Charles Johnson put us together to work on a committee. What a gift that was! That was the start of my friendship with "Big Mama Princess" and many dinners together with Charles, the three of us laughing so hard we'd get "looks" from other restaurant patrons. Those times were such a gift. Linda was the bravest person I have ever met. Her faith was both her shield and comfort. Her strength never waivered. I will remember her warmth and humor and be ever grateful that I finally met "that little Caldwell girl."
