John and I attended the same church growing up (Gospel Chapel on the corner of Franklin St. & East St.).  He was always so full of life and had the best sense of humor.  I had the joy and pleasure of visiting with him while he was at Raleigh Rehab on Wade Ave.  I didn't go to cheer him up. I visited him so I could be cheered up.  Visiting John was also like going to a counseling session.  He had so much wisdom about life and relationships, he always shared wonderful words of encouragement with me.  We spent many hours talking about our childhood memories, discussing the Bible, and sharing about life in general.  He was a loyal friend.

O.B. was in the class of '69 but unfortunately failed Senior English and was not able to graduate with his class. He officially graduated with our class of '70.

He died January 4, 2015, at the age of 63.
