Attended UNC-G and majored in English.
Graduated with a BA in English and a Minor in Religion from UNC-CH and still live in Chapel Hill.

Work history:
1. 35+ years with UNC-CH Davis Library.
2. After retirement worked part-time for UNC Neurology (2013-3019).

Great memories of playing viola in the Broughton Orchestra under the direction of Mr. Richard Southwick. And will never forget our two Principals: Mr. Holliday and Mr. Holifield.

I'm not sure if finding this poem in our Senior English text was what sparked my interest in poetry, but it is a poem that I found hypnotic:
THOUGH THE MOUNTAINS

Fran -- such a warm, wonderful person! I don't think I realized at the time (being more of a brooding poet-type) what a positive influence she had on me. There are certain people who touch you dearly, and she is one of them.

Rachel was extraordinary in every sense of the word, and yet never took any credit for all her accomplishments. We are all diminished by the loss of her. Even now it is hard to be in a world without her CAN DO energy and caring friendship.
