50th Reunion Memorial

Lori Envoldsen Nichols presented a touching memorial during the Satuday Night program at Arrowhead.

The first part of that is captured in a video on youtube,

Below is the text of what Lori presented.  Lori also created a creative display with the names and photos of the deceased classmates that was brought to both event locations. The "leaves" had a photo of the classmate on the front, with an inscription on the back, "...You made a difference.  ...You are remembered".

Lori's presentation included reading the names of the list of deceased classmates (see In Memory page).  This was followed by a reading of the following which Lori wrote.

You know that you are welcome here
if you’re waiting just outside.
We’ve missed you all and hope you know
you’ll find just friends inside.

We want to tell you something
so there isn’t any doubt.
You’re so wonderful to think of,
but so hard to live without.

In all the ways we knew you then,
our memories take us there.
Remembering your faces
and all the times we shared.

Classmates and locker mates,
a hallway crush that made us blush,
music makers, great debaters,
artists, athletes, YOU were Raiders.

Mechanics, cowboys, drama queens,
the quiet ones behind the scenes,
student leaders and class clowns,
rides to school or Taco John’s.

Study hall friends and B parking lot members,
you made a difference,
you are remembered.

These threads all make the tapesty
that we now call our history.

So, in 5 years, lets try again
to gather from afar,
and just in case you lose your way,
we’ll leave the door ajar.
