After graduating from RCS and UVA (degree in biology), I worked construction and/or substitute taught in various schools in the area for three years. During that time I also completed a graduate program in education at the College of St. Rose in Albany. I worked as a HS science teacher (12 yrs) and School Business Administrator (15 yrs) at Schodack CSD in Castleton and as a School District Superintendent (8 yrs) at both Mexico CSD and Chatham CSD. I retired in 2008 and have served as an educational consultant in various capacities since then.

Marilyn and I built a house on 17 acres of beautiful wooded property in Rensselaer County near Troy. It's about as close to being in the middle of the Adirondack wilderness as we could manage and still be close enough to our work to help us pay for it. WE think of it as our private vacation spot, as well as the home where we raised our three kids (and our Siberian husky). We're now spending our retirement time and money on renovating it, finishing it, and enjoying it.
